Villain-esque Half Moons

Hello loves & happy Friday! & happy first day of August — how crazy is that?

How is everyone enjoying their week so far? I’ve been enjoying the very warm temperatures while simultaneously dreaming about pumpkin spice lattes & Halloween costumes. I’m a complicated girl, what can I say. I’ve also found myself thinking about Autumn-y nails & nail designs.

Today’s look, I guess, you could call somewhat Autumn inspired. I was thinking about a red on red half moon idea… but then added some shifty top coat, & they turned into something different entirely. I’m calling them villain-esque, because they totally look the part.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Good To Go Top Coat
  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier
  • Butter London Saucy Jack
  • Essie Tailored By Twilight *pr
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat Moonlight
  • Paper hole reinforcements

What do you think about this combination? I really like the dark red over the light red, but the addition of the golden shimmer topper really gives it an extra something. Obviously, this look is a little dark for the hot days of August… but I’m a risk taker.

Also I will never not love a half moon manicure. It’s also reminding me I really, really need to play with my nail vinyls more. I have so many just sitting untouched in my folder, waiting to be used. I need to rectify that soon (&maybe get some new ones that are fall themed for the ‘ber months.)

What do you think about these half moons? Do you like this design as much as I do? Are you a fan of the half moons for easy nail art?

Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Butter London Pure Colour 21X Piccadilly Prawn

Contains PR

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! A beautiful Sunday at that. Today I’m excited because I recently received a little PR package from Butter London, containing the most beautiful Summer-y shade from their Pure Colour 21X line: Piccadilly Prawn.

2 coats + Top Coat

Look at this beautiful fiery coral! The formula itself is very creamy & easy to apply which I loved. The colour is a beautiful bright coral, but leans red. It’s very vibrant, & very beautiful. We all know I’m a sucker for any shade from this colour family, & I really adore how it looks on me.

The Butter London Pure Colour 21X line is a 21 Free product — meaning it is free of 21 of the chemicals that can sometimes be added to nail polish. It’s a cleaner alternative for those who are careful with what they wear — it is also vegan, cruelty free, gluten free & designed to help with nail strength. All in all, it’s a fantastic choice for painting your nails!

You can find Piccadilly Prawn on the Butter London website here, or it can be purchased where other Butter London products are sold.

What do you think of Piccadilly Prawn? Are you a fan of this Butter London shade? Personally, I think the name is super cute! I don’t have a ton of Butter London in my stash, but the ones I do have all have the cutest names.

Happy Sunday!

Pretty Floral Bouquet Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is enjoying their week so far — & if things are feeling rough right now, I hope at least you have a little bit of calm in your life to sooth those moments.

Today I’m excited to share off some pretty floral nails I did recently. After a bit of a nail art hiatus, I’m feeling good again about painting my nails — even if 95% of the nail I’ve been doing has been hand painted florals. Floral just makes me happy, so I’m going to keep wearing it.

Today’s look is especially pretty because I painted it over another beautiful holographic base shade. When the sun is shining, that just calls for all the holo!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Couture Top Coat
  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifier
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Euphoric
  • NailStuff.ca Holo Top Coat*
  • Color Club Pucci-licious
  • Butter London Coming Up Roses*
  • Essie Swoon in the Lagoon
  • Essie Set in Sandstone*
  • Essie Cute As A Button
  • Essie Wind in the Willow *
  • Essie Off Tropic *
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool

*pr/gifted

These were a bit time consuming to paint, but the end result was totally worth it. I absolutely love the bright floral over the super shiny holographic base. It was exactly how I was hoping it would turn out, & I couldn’t be happier with it.

I just love floral nails so much.

What do you think of this beautiful floral bouquet nails? Do you think it looks pretty over such a holographic base? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & if you’re enjoying all the floral nails I’ve been sharing.

Happy Wednesday

Simple Pink & Holo Glitter Nails

Good morning lovelies & happy Monday! We’re still digging out from the snowpocalypse over the weekend but thankfully I have some manicures from last week (when I wasn’t posting) to share with you this week!

Today’s look is a super simple one, but I actually really love it. This would be a great Valentine’s Day look to wear for any fun date (or girls night!) you have planned. It’s also a super simple look to create.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat
  • Butter London Pistol Pink
  • OPI I Snow You Love Me
  • Dotting tool

I haven’t worn this pink in ages & I totally forgot how beautiful it was! I don’t often wear just pink nails on their own, so naturally I had to add a little extra sparkle. Originally, I wanted to use heart glitters — but my bottle is all dried up & needs some nail polish thinner — so I decided to go with the next best thing which is this glitter from OPI.

It gives the effect of rhinestones on your nails, without having to worry about hitting them against something & knocking them off! Just such a cute easy nail art look to wear!

What do you think about this simple chic pink nail art look? Would you wear this design on your nails? As always, I love to hear what you think in the comments so please share below!

Enjoy your Monday 🖤

Matte Pastel Leopard Print

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! ☕️🌸

I hope everyone is having a lovely start to the week — especially with that Full moon that happened Sunday. I definitely felt the effects from it; things were off. But I did start off my week with some much needed Spring cleaning, which was great… & very, very overdue. My nail art area was starting to get overrun with bottles of polish, haha.

I also have some new Spring-y nails to shade. I saw this pretty pastel leopard print via Pinterest, & thought it would be absolutely perfect for a nail art look! & obviously matte top coat makes everything better!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Matte Top Coat: Butter London Matte Top Coat
  • Essence Good to Go Indian Summer
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art Pen in Fine Black
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

Love, love, love how these turned out! Dainty & Spring like. The colours just compliment each other so well! Leopard print is one of those designs I don’t do very often, so they always feel extra special when I do them. Plus, there are endless colour combinations, so you truthfully never have to do the same one twice!

What do you think about this matte pastel leopard print? Would you wear this for Spring? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below, & which colours you would pair together.
