Blurple Colour Block Featuring OPI

Good morning lovelies & happy Tuesday… it’s been a while. This month has been so insane, & my nail painting has really fallen off. Trying my best to get back into it though, & today I have some fun (& relatively simple!) nail art to share with you.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Here to Stay
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • OPI Dining al Frisco
  • OPI Infinite Shine Sound of Vibrance
  • OPI Infinite Shine Shaking My Sugar Plums
  • Quo by Orly Striper Black

How good are these blues & purples together? I definitely feel like those are my colours lately, right down to my hair colour. But I just love a good colour block, & this design is so easy to do — & you don’t even need any nail art tools!

You definitely could use nail vinyls or tape if you’re not comfortable freehanding though. I like going over my lines with the black though, because I feel like it hides any mistakes you might have done, plus makes the blue really pop!

What do you think of this colour block featuring some fun OPI shades from my stash? Do you love how these shades pair together as much as me? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below & what you’d like to see next?

Happy Tuesday!

SWATCH SUNDAY — China Glaze I Got A Blue Attitude

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! It’s a bright, beautiful sunny Sunday here on the East Coast, & I plan on soaking up all the sunshine today! & maybe pulling out a sun dress too.

A few days ago I did a few Instagram polls to see what kind of polish people wanted to see for this week’s Swatch Sunday. The results were: something from the stash, from a limited collection, & in the blue family. So I dug through my extensive nail polish collection & decided on this beauty: China Glaze I Got A Blue Attitude from the Summer 2016 Lite Brites collection.

2 coats + Seche Vive top coat

The formula on this shade is really nice — it’s thick enough it’s almost a one coated, with perfect application. I went with two, just to make sure I had perfect coverage.

The colour is this beautiful blue leaning purple with subtle, almost hidden, shimmer. You can sort of see it in the bottle below, but I think the thicker formula causes it to be absolutely hidden on the nail itself.

I love how bright this colour is — it really is great for Summer! It’s not really neon, but it’s very bright. If I remember correctly, this was the first shade I bought from the Lite Brites collection because I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. & even after all the years, I’m still. very much in love with it.

I love a good blue, I love a good purple — so give me a blurple & I’m in heaven!

Sadly, as mentioned, this shade is from the limited edition 2016 Lite Brites collection so it’s not in current rotation — as far as I can see. There does seem to be a few listings on Google for it, so if you’re better at searching for those things than me, you might be able to track it down. But if you happen to come across it on your shopping travels, I definitely recommend picking it up, because it is a very beautiful colour!

Have a lovely Sunday. 💜

SWATCH SUNDAY – Personnelle Cosmetics Daisy

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a lovely start to their day, & is enjoying their weekend however they can. It’s a bit rainy here, but the temperatures have been very mild for October, which I’m enjoying. Perfect boots & tights weather, without needing too many layers.

Today I’m excited though, because I’m sharing a new polish with you I picked up last weekend while I was away to my parents in Northern New Brunswick. No matter where I go, I always got to check out the clearance rack, & I ended up finding this beauty at the local pharmacy (Jean Coutu) for $2.

This is Personnelle Cosmetics Daisy, which is the Jean Coutu in-house cosmetics line.

1 coat, no top coat.

Holy Moses, this is a stunning polish, & the formula is absolutely amazing! The colour is this beautiful darkened purple-y blue, with metallic finish. I was also really really impressed with how well this formula applied — I only needed one coat for each nail, which is awesome! Especially with a finish like this, because it cuts down on the amount of brush strokes you need to apply.

Just look! It’s so beautiful! & the colour is a perfect jewel tone for this time of year. & the little hint of silver sparkles is beautiful. I ended up wearing this shade for a few days, topped with Starrily Eclipse holographic top coat, & it was a stunning combination. Definitely very impressed, especially for a pharmacy nail polish that was only $2. But even at the regular price ($5.99) it’s definitely a great quality choice.

This brand is sadly only available in Ontario, Quebec & New Brunswick Canada (as far as I’m aware) so it’s a pretty limited scope, but if you’re even in a location with a Jean Coutu location, I definitely recommend popping in & checking out their cosmetics, especially their nail polish. I’ve always had good luck finding clearance nail polish there, including some Essie shades I had been coveting for years!

What do you think of Personnelle Cosmetics Daisy? Would you wear this beautiful metallic shade? Have you ever tried this brand before? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!
