Mermaid Sparkle Nails ✨🧜‍♀️

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday!

It’s a beautiful sunny day & it’s lovely. Definitely feeling like Spring more & more, & I’m just soaking it up. Today I’m sharing a really pretty manicure with you that I did recently, which was actually super easy to do! A while ago — probably sometime last year—I picked up these pretty iridescent glitters from Dollarama, & I’ve had yet to use them! So I was so excited to finally pull them out.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: LA Girl Rapid Dry Top Coat
  • Nailtural Keep Palm, & Swim On
  • Icing Mermaid Oil Blue
  • Dollarama Nail Art Glitters iridescent shard glitters
  • Small nail art brush (to pick up glitters)

How pretty did these turned out?! I feel like with my new blue hair, I’m all about the mermaid vibes lately. Mermaid hair just needs mermaid nails.

These were so easy to apply the glitters to my nails, & it turned out so beautiful. I really really love how they look. Of course, I did have some little peices sticking up on my nail, but I feel like a thicker top coat might help with that issue. Either way, I wore the heck out of this manicure!

Happy Thursday 💙

SWATCH SUNDAY — BKIND Sauble Beach

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

I know I’ve been very quiet in here lately; to be honest, I’ve been struggling a bit on what to do with this blog of mine. It’s been almost 10 years since my first blog post, & the nailsphere has changed a lot. But painting my nails has always brought me such happiness, & that is what I’m going to focus on.

So let’s start with a new to me brand for this weeks Swatch Sunday! I found this BKIND brand at my local Winners & as soon as I saw this beautiful blue I knew I needed it. This is BKIND Sauble Beach.

2 coats + top coat

How absolutely stunning is this beautiful cornflower blue? Two coats was all I needed for perfect opacity, & I added some top coat for a little extra shine. The formula was really smooth & easy to work with, if only a little thin. But after the first coat, you know exactly how much you need on your brush.

This is such a perfect colour for Spring! I’ve always been in love with blue nail polish, as we know, so I’m so happy to add this to my collection.

The brand also has some impressive stats: vegan, plant based & touts itself as being 21 free. They also have a very impressive selection of colours listed on their website! There were mostly neutral colours at my Winners, with a few blues & shimmers. I’m definitely hope they’ll have more coming in, because I’m really quite impressed with this brand after my first experience!

What do you think of BKIND Sauble Beach? Have you heard of this brand before — what did you think? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

& let me know what kind of content you’d like to see me take on as Coffee & Nail Polish approaches its next decade!

Happy Sunday 🖤

Blue Geometric Colour Block

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! Sorry for my absence on Monday — this has been a rough month, creatively speaking. I’ve really had to push myself to want to do nail art, which isn’t like me at all. But today I have a fun nail art look I did on the weekend. This was actually the last nail art look I did before an epic nail break, so expect super short nails in upcoming posts!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple
  • Essie In My Cab-ana
  • Essie License to Thrill
  • Essie No Ex-pectations
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

This is such a fun look, & it was so easy to do. Like I said, I’ve been dealing with a lack of creativity when it comes to my nails, but a colour block look never disappoints. Usually I only stick to 3 colours, but I decided to do four for this one & I think it looks awesome!

What do you think about this colour block look? Are you a fan of this design? What is your favourite go to nail art look when you’re packing in inspiration— let me know in the comments below!

Enjoy your Wednesday loves!

Dainty Pink & Blue Dotticure

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! A brand new week which is always exciting. It’s also Valentine’s Day this week, so I expect to be busy at work because who doesn’t want candy for Valentine’s Day?

Today though, I’m sharing my last design I did during my week break from blogging (& before I chopped my nails down short.) In my opinion, a dainty dotticure is always a good idea!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat
  • Essie License to Thrill
  • Sally Hansen I 💗 Nail Art Pen in pink

I am so ready to petition Sally Hansen to bring back these I 💗 Nail Art pens because they just make dotticure & polka dots so freaking easy! Like look at these! I could never get polka dots as clean & as perfect as these with a dotting tool, no matter how hard I try. I’m just absolutely obsessed & I really wish they would bring them back already!

What do you think about this dainty dotticure? Do you love a petite polka dot as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Blue Marble

Hello lovelies & happy Friday. I know it’s been a quiet week here. I’ll be honest, it’s been a rough week on my end, so blogging hasn’t really been my main priority. But—it’s almost the weekend & I’m feeling better, so let’s share some nails, shall we?

Today’s look is an easy marble effect I did using my favourite Saran Wrap splatter effect. These are giving deep space/ deep ocean vibes, & I quite love it.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Ardene Electric Chic
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Cosmic Blue
  • OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
  • Crinkled Saran Wrap

I went a little heavier with my dabbing for this look, layering the colours over one another, which is what I think gave it the cool marble effect.

What do you think about these marble nails? Are you a fan of looks like these, or do you prefer more detailed nail art? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.
