Happy 2018 Everyone! ✨ I know I’ve been a little quiet over Christmas, but we spent it up in Northern New Brunswick with my Mum & Dad & Granddad & I decided because it was Lil Bubs first Christmas I wanted to be in the moment completely, hence putting the blog aside for a little while to enjoy the moments! Now I’m back, & I have some gorgeous swatches of some gorgeous polishes (which are WAY overdue).
Yes, I know… normally I would wait until Sunday for all these swatches but that just means you’ve get double the swatches this week! But I wanted to get this Morgan Taylor Little Miss Nutcracker polishes up finally–yes, this collection is technically for the holidays but once you see these swatches you’ll realize they’re great shades for all through the year!
<These polishes were all gifted to me by Morgan Taylor as part of the Preen.Me#PreenMeVIP program>

Okay, so I think I’m obsessed with Christmas tree nail art. 🎄 I seriously can’t get enough of them. This time I created some Christmas tree stamped nails using a design I didn’t even know I had! I was trying to create something new, & discovered on this plate I reviewed from the Summer that there was this cute tree pattern–perfect for Christmas nails! So obviously it meant I needed to try it out.
is manicure, the polishes used were:
- Base Coat: Nailtek 2
- Top Coat: Seche Vive
- China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald
- Essie Tuck It In My Tux
- Morgan Taylor Dreaming of Gleaming
- Morgan Taylor Silver in my Stocking
- Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BPL015
- Clear Jelly Stamper (also from Born Pretty)
- NailStuff.ca reindeer studs
I really, really love how these turned out. i think they’re just so pretty. I tried out my hand at double stamping using silver under the green, but it’s very subtle. However it did make Emerald Fitzgerald pop a lot more, since it’s a little thin for stamping. Also, can we talk about these ADORABLE reindeer studs from NailStuff.ca? I used a whole lot of top coat to attach them to my nail & they lasted a whole day easily. Also they’re the cutest studs I’ve ever seen.

Is it too early for snowflakes? Probably (& I’m definitely not trying to encourage Mother Nature in any way) but my few Christmas/Winter plates were sitting on my desk the other night looking so lonely so I decided maybe some snowflakes would be pretty.
I do a variation of this design pretty much every year, with varying levels of success haha. I love how it looks a bit like wrapping to me. Honestly, the only time I like snow is between December 20th & January 2nd, or when it’s painted on my nails.
For my manicure, the polishes I used were:
- Base Coat: Essie Grow Stronger
- Top Coat: Seche Vive
- Zoya Yves
- Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Buffalo Nickel
- Born Pretty Store Clear Jelly Stamper
- Born Pretty Store Snowflake Stamping plate (no longer available) — this one (also Born Pretty) could be a good alternative.
- Edge Perfective Cuticle Barrier
I was really impressed with how well Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Buffalo Nickel stamped. I find metallic shades can be so hit or miss when it comes to how well they stamp, but it turned out awesome! I thought about adding a bit of glitter in the middle of my snowflakes, but decided against it just in case I hated how it looked.
We’re slowly creeping into the holiday season. We were at the grocery store yesterday & you could already hear Christmas carols being played! Trying my best to like Christmas this year, especially because it’s baby’s first Christmas (& my husband’s absolute favourite holiday!) so wish me luck. Maybe if I do enough Christmas manicures, it will subconsciously make me love it?
