Who doesn’t love a good mermaid manicure?
When I made my What’s Up Nails order I knew I needed to stock up on some of their scale stencils so I could create mermaid nails. They just make me so happy! I just can’t stop playing with my vinyls.
For this manicure, I used:
- Base Coat: Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat
- Top Coat: Cutex Quick Dry Top Coat
- Essie All Access Pass
- Icing Breakfast At Tiffany’s
- China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla
- What’s Up Nails Scale Stencil
I really wanted an excuse to pull out my bottle of Sand Dolla Make You Holla. Sadly my bottle has seen better days, & I’ve been trying to bring it back to life with polish thinner, but it’s not going well. Anyone else have trouble saying goodbye to old polishes at the end of their life, or is just me? I find it especially hard with polishes that are discontinued because you know you can’t get go out & buy a new bottle easily. I mean, yeah there is EBay but I feel weird buying polish off of EBay. Guess I will just have to hope & pray I come across it at Winners or Marshall’s one day soon.
What do you think of this mermaid mani? What polish do you keep even though it’s seen better days? Let me know in the comments below!
Happy Saturday lovelies! Hope you’re having a fantastic start to your weekend. And if you’re one of those unlucky souls currently in the path of that awful Blizzard, I hope you’re staying warm and safe all tucked in with plenty of Storm Chips!
Today I’ve got some Spring-y Saran wrap nails to share with you, which I haven’t posted in quite a while. I love how quick and easy they look. For version of the Saran Wrap nails, I like to paint my polish directly on my crinkled up plastic wrap then dab it on my base colour. It creates a much different look! If you ever want me to create a pictorial tutorial for the technique, let me know and I definitely will (videos still escape me!).
For this manicure, the polishes I used were:
- Essie Take it Outside (base colour)
- Essie Garden Variety
- Essie We’re in it Together
- Sinful Colors Endless Blue
- Revlon Cherries in the Snow
- Black Nail art Striper from Milani
- Essie Good to Go
So what do you think of this manicure? I’m feeling the January Nail Art blues hard. I don’t find there anything inspiring about these cold awful days. =(
Bring on February and all the Valentines Days manicures a girl can handle! ❤
Finally… Some nail art! I’ve been super busy the last couple days but I was excited to do some real nail art by joining @pawlished.kait in a mani swap!
Kait recreated my purple polka dots, and I recreated her gorgeous blue and fushia leopard print.
The polishes I used for this mani were:
- Sinful Colors Be Happy
- Essie The Girls Are Out
- Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art pen in Black.
- Seche Vite
- L’oreal The Matte Velvet top coat.
I love how well these two colours go together! Also matte 😍😍😍 I was so excited to swap with Kait! She has so many amazing manis, and it was hard to pick just one to recreate!
If you’re not following @pawlished.kait on Instagram you definitely should be! Not only does she have AWESOME manicures, she is a fellow crazy cat lady and posts pictures of her adorable fur babies! 😸
whew! It’s been a super busy couple of weeks. The Mr and I moved into a brand new house and then I had one of the big head honchos visiting at work. Stress-ful. But with that over I can concentrate on the good things in life. Like POLISH!
Today’s mani is inspired by the crazy talented @banicured_ who did these stunning crocheted floral nails a couple weeks ago. As soon as I saw them I put them right on my list of manicures to recreate!
The polishes I used for this manicure were:
- Essie Where’s My Chauffeur (non accent nail colour & floral)
- ACO by Ardene Golden Luxury (accent dots)
- Mariposa Striper in White (crocheted pattern)
- Essie Time for Me Time (base of accent nails)
- Essie Suite Retreat (blurple-floral)
- Essie Stones and Roses (pink-floral)
- China Glaze Be More Pacific (green-floral)
- Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat.
So what do you think of my inspired by manicure? I really love how these turned out! Also I’m so in love with the Essie 2015 Resort collection (as you probably guessed as I used 3/4 polishes on this mani!)
What are you wearing today loves? 💗
