Olive & June Summer Stripes

Hello beauties & happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a lovely start to their day so far. It’s rainy but warm here in Halifax, so typical Summer weather for us. Today I’m showing off another fun design I did using some recently gifted nail polish from Olive & June.

I was feeling a stripe-y beach towel inspired look, & I thought the Summer collection from Olive & June would be perfect for that! For this look, I started my stripes over my bare nails & drew on the stripes for each colour individually. It was definitely time consuming, but I think the end result turned out perfect!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colour Grip Primer
  • Top Coat: Olive & June Long Lasting Top Coat
  • Olive & June Not A Cloud
  • Olive & June House of O&J
  • Olive & June Flowerpot
  • Olive & June How Do You Spell Bougainvillea?
  • Olive & June Bocce Ball
  • Olive & June Starshower
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush Trio (I used the 11mm size)

I think this manicure really shows off how concessive this whole collection is. The colours really do all compliment each other, & I quite enjoy them! Like I said, this design was pretty time consuming to get right, but I think in the end is came together perfectly.

I also tried to sneak in some Starshower but it was much harder to draw stripes off! Next time, I would probably use it as my base shade, & draw my stripes over top with a little bit of naked sparkle peeking out from underneath.

What do you think of this stripe design? Do you like this combination of colours? Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

happy Wednesday! ♥︎

Simple Swirls

•contains pr/gifted product•

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! I hope everyone is having a lovely start to their week. It’s humid & sticky here today, with not much sun. Not my favourite kind of weather, but that’s okay. Today I have a fun look I actually did before Canada Day, but hadn’t had a chance to post yet. I was feeling so stripes, & ended up going a little more on the abstract side of things (as I usually do.)

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Londontown KUR Nail Hardener & Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry Top
  • Essie Expressie FX Iced Out
  • Essie Bikini So Teeny
  • Essie (Un)Guilty Pleasures
  • Essie Cute as A Button
  • Essie Willow in the Wind
  • Essie Frilly Lillies
  • NailStuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush Trio (I used the 11mm liner brush)

In case you’re wondering — yes, I’m still obsessed with these beautiful Essie shades I was gifted. I haven’t yet had a chance to do a floral yet with these shades, but I have it on my itinerary. So many nail art ideas, so little time! But I have to say, all the beautiful polishes I’ve recently been gifted for PR, I have so many ideas brewing inside my head. I’m very excited for all the nail art to come this Summer.

What do you think about this beautiful swirly line design? Such an easy design to do, with minimal time required.

Have a fantastic Monday! ♥︎

Funky Bright Abstract Stripes

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! A beautiful sunny Spring Wednesday.

I’ve really been feeling the bright colours lately, so I decided to dig through my stash to see what fun colour combinations I could come up with. Originally I had picked out these colours to do in a moon manicure, but it was late, I was tired & I didn’t want to wait for my base to dry so I decided to do the next best thing! A fun abstract stripe look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry Top
  • China Glaze Thistle Do Nicely
  • China Glaze I Got A Blue Attitude
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Blacky-O
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Let’s Snow
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I love love love these two colours together, I can’t lie. I’ve always been a fan of pairing purple/corals together. In high school, my bedroom was painted a very vibrant shade of purple, & my curtains were this coral-y orange. & I loved it!

It was the early 2000s… don’t judge haha.

Either way, this is a fun, bright look to show off on a bright & sunny day like today. Of course, when I took these pictures it was not a sunny day… but you know, this kind of look works on a cloudy, rainy day too. Really, I’ll take any excuse for bright nails right now.

What do you think of these fun, funky bright abstract stripes? Are you hearing the call of the Summer neons? I’ll be honest, I bypassed right past pastels & full on into my brightest polish shades, but I’m okay with that!

Have a happy Wednesday!

Bright & Simple Swirls

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! A freaking chilly Tuesday here. We went from it feeling like Winter this weekend, to it feeling like Spring yesterday, right back into a cold snap. My nails are definitely not happy about the back & forth, but I’m trying to keep them looking cute regardless.

Todays look was a really simple one I did last week. I wanted something a little bit bright & colourful, & I was especially feeling Essie Flowerista as my base shade, so this is what I ended up with!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
  • Essie Flowerista
  • Color Club Art Club Striper Passion Flower

I really wanted to do some nail art over my base, but I was running short on time. However — I thought these wavy lines using my Color Club Striper was perfect! I thought about doing them in more than one colour, but I think the purple over the fuchsia is more than perfect. I like the simplicity. It’s a great pop of colour which is exactly what you need when it’s still January.

What do you think about these bright & simple swirls? Are you feeling the simplicity of this design or do you prefer nail art that is more complex?

Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below. I love when people share their thoughts on my nail art!

Have a lovely Tuesday! 🌸

Candy Cane Abstract Stripes (featuring W7 mini polishes)

Hello beauties & happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a lovely Black Friday weekend. Mine was busy–obviously… retail life–but surprisingly fun. & I’m finally starting to feel the holiday vibes. So I’m starting to dig into all my kind of Christmas-y polishes.

Recently I picked up a little polish mini set from Marshall’s by the brand w7. They had a whole selection of mini packs, so I decided to pick the one named “Centre Stage” which had 4 very Christmas-y colours, & a clear top coat. I’ve been staring at this little set for a few weeks now, sitting on my desk, so I decided to finally grab it & create a pretty, & festive, nail art look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-chip Top Coat
  • w7 White
  • w7 Red
  • w7 Green
  • w7 Gold Dazzle
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

How freaking festive is this nail art look? I love it! These were the perfect nails to wear for Black Friday for sure. Unfortunately, they got a bit chipped up, but other than that I absolutely adore this look. I did a similar version last year, but when you find a nail art look you love, why not keep returning to it!

Plus abstract stripes are so easy to do. They’re very hard to mess up, & even if you kind of do, they’re easy to fix any messes.
