Holographic Swirls (with the Ella + Mila Enchanted collection)

*contains PR

Good morning lovelies & happy Tuesday. Sorry for the unannounced hiatus — after my busy week last week, I woke up Sunday morning feeling like I got hit by a bus thanks to the cold from Hell. Thankfully, I’m finally feeling better today (thank you DayQuil) but I am behind on posting!

Today I’m sharing a fun sparkly design that I think is perfect as we approach Holiday Party Season. & I accomplished this look using the entire Ella + Mila Enchanted (B) collection. I feel like November (& into December) is why my craving for glitter really skyrockets, so expect lots of glitter in the next few weeks as we get into Christmas/Holiday mode!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Ella + Mila All About The Base (Base Coat) *
  • Top Coat: Ella + Mila In A Rush (Top Coat) *
  • Ella + Mila Everglow *
  • Ella + Mila Oasis *
  • Ella + Mila Dragonfly *
  • Ella + Mila Violet Skies
  • Ella + Mila Zephyr *
  • Ella + Mila Aurora Lights *
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

Love the negative space base (with some added shimmer thanks to Everglow) & then the stripes of holographic. The sparkle is unbelievable & definitely perfect for any shindig you have coming up to celebrate. Ella + Mila have also just launched some great nail art stripers, so if you’re looking to try out a nail art look like this, I definitely recommend checking them out!

What do you think of these sparkly abstract stripes? Do you think this is a nail art look you could see yourself trying & wearing, especially as we get into party season?

(More) Autumn Abstract Stripes

*contains PR

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! & a chilly Wednesday at that. October is really speeding along, isn’t it?

Today I’m excited because I recently received some PR from Essie & they were more than generous sending me 25 polishes (!!!) from their regular line, Expressie line & Gel Couture line. Happy early birthday to me. So naturally, as soon as I received these shades I had to grab a few to do my nails with! & since it’s been a while since I rocked them, I decided to test out some new polishes with a little abstract stripe action.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Base Coat: LA Colors Mega Grow Treatment
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Essie Expressie Feel The Hype
  • Essie Expressie Never Skip A Beat
  • Essie Expressie Power Moves
  • Essie Expressie Take A Breakdance
  • Essie Nail Art Studio Separated Starlight
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

Oh man, I’m so excited by new nail polish — it’s actually hard to convey via blog post, but expect to see a lot of Essie manicures over the next little while. There are some shades I received that I can’t wait to swatch for you!

What do you think about this Autumn abstract stripe design? Are you as excited for some fun Essie manicures to come? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

Happy Wednesday

Crimson Stripes

Hello beauties & happy Friday! It’s officially the weekend (basically), & that means we need to cap off this week with some more nails. I’ve really been trying to do my nails as much as possible — both for the challenge this month, & then sneaking in some non-GlamNails nails as well.

Today’s look is a simple one, but I just love it because it’s been a while since I did stripes on my nails. & I just adore the subtle effect.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Base Coat: LA Colors Mega Grow Treatment
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri CinnaSnap
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Zip Wine
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Just In Wine
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat Moonlight
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

Oh man, I just love stripes! & these ones are subtle but then you get that sparkle from Moonlight & it shows up so well. I love it.

Plus, we all know I love a red nail moment. Red nails will forever be a favourite of mine, even when I’m like 80! I’m never ever going to grow tired of them. But it is fun to find a way to spice them up a little bit every so often.

What do you think of this crimson stripe look? Do you like it as much as I do? It feels like a good amount of Autumn vibes, which is perfect because our weather is finally feeling Fall-like again, after some seriously balmy temperatures. & considering how much I live for Fall fashion, I’ll take it.

Happy Friday!

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE AUGUST (2024) — Desert 🏜️

Good morning lovelies & happy rainy Monday!

Can you believe that August is almost over? We are like 4 days away from PSL coming back, & August is slipping away. Which means we only have a few more prompts to go for Glam Nails Challenge August! & the next prompt is desert! I was excited for this one, but decided to go a bit abstract with the prompt & used desert inspired colours for this abstract stripe design!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie First Base
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Essie Cocktails & Coconuts
  • Essie Rocky Rose
  • Essie East Hampton Cottage
  • Essie Cacti on the Prize
  • Essie Mani Thanks!
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

How pretty is this colour combination?! I will be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever worn a manicure which had so much real life enthusiasm! I swear, I was getting so many amazing comments & reactions to this design I didn’t want to take it off. I think it has something to do with how long my nails are right now — they definitely garner a lot of attention!

Definitely a bit of an interpretation of the prompt, but that’s the fun of nail art! You get to do whatever version of a prompt that you want, & I love that about this kind of challenge. Makes me get creative!

What do you think of my desert nails? Do you love how this design turned out? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below! & don’t forget, if you’re on Instagram, to check out the hashtag #glamnailschallengeaug24 to see everyone’s beautiful version of this prompt!

Happy Monday

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a beautiful week so far. & I hope anyone who’s being affected by the current storm down the coast is safe & dry.

Today, I’m excited because I finally had the time (& motivation) to join in another Instagram Nail Art collab hosted by @essieyall & @petitenaillover on Instagram! This month’s theme was: Groovy 60s, & if there is anything I love, it’s anything 1960s! So I was beyond excited to join in on this collaboration.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: LA Colors Mega Grow Treatment
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie No Ex-pectations
  • Essie Revenge’s a Beach
  • Essie Bustling Bazaar
  • Essie Set in Sandstone
  • Essie Butler Please
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 7mm liner brush

Oh man, these turned out so much better than I could have ever imagined. It’s exactly the look I was hoping it would be. I love the colours, the swirls, the flowers; it’s just as groovy as I hoped it would be! I just love it. & obviously, it’s always fun to join another group of nail artists, & see what everyone does with the prompt!
