SWATCH SUNDAY — China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle 🌊

Hello my loves & happy Sunday. I wouldn’t exactly call it a beautiful Sunday here on the East Coast, but I have hope that Spring is just right around the corner (& Summer after that). &, unfortunately I had a bad break at work on my ring finger yesterday so I’m back to rocking some shorties.

But let’s cheer up these short nails with something beautiful & bright. & what is more beautiful & right than this classic China Glaze shade! This is China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle.

3 coats (I know…) + Top Coat

This beautiful vibrant turquoise was originally released as part of the Sensational collection circa 2013, & then became part of the permanent core collection (which means you can still buy it anywhere you buy China Glaze.) I feel like I’ve always heard people refer to Too Yacht To Handle as one of China Glaze’s Cult favourites, along with shades like Ruby Slippers, For Audrey & Flip Flop Fantasy.

The formula on this guy was a little patchy. The age of my bottle is unknown, as it was gifted to me years ago, so it still has that skinny China Glaze brush they used to have in their bottles — which definitely didn’t help with application. But a little top coat fixes everything.

Ah, it’s just so bright & beautiful. Honestly, this has been a particularly dark week in my personal life so a little bright light is just what I need. & my love for China Glaze nail polish will never die. They’ve always had some of my favourite polishes, especially when it comes to the warmer months.

& thankfully, this shade is still a part of the permanent collection which means if you’re looking for a beautiful bright polish you can always had this beauty to your life.

What do you think of China Glaze Too Yacht To Handle? Does this shade made you think of tropical waters & somewhere warm? Let me know what you think down in the comments!

Happy Sunday

Pink & Purple Stained Glass Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Friday.

I won’t lie — this has been an incredibly difficult week personally. But I’m pushing through, because if one thing painting my nails (& blogging) does, is it helps my mental health. & pretty nails always make me happy.

Today’s look was a quick stained glass look I did the other night featuring Essie. I’ve been wearing a lot of the Essie in my stash lately! They just have such a beautiful variety of colours to choose from.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Base Coat: Essie Hard to Resist Advanced
  • Essie Flowerista
  • Essie Swoon in the Lagoon
  • Essie Expressie Choreo Queen *pr
  • Quo by Orly Striper in black
  • Small dotting tool (to fill in) NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

I think these turned out so pretty. I love these colours together. Pink & purple are always my favourite colours to combine. & I think this is such a pretty Spring-y combination — that isn’t floral. Don’t get me wrong, I love floral (& I have a ton of floral to come!)

What do you think about this geometric look? Would you wear a design like this? Let me know in tbe comments below what you think.

Neon Print Floral 🌸 (Featuring Madam Glam Nail Art Pens)

Contains PR/Gifted Product

Hello lovelies & happy Monday!

I’m not sure about your part of the world, but here in mine we’ve been stuck in a frozen wasteland for a while. It’s been a rough Winter (& it’s only the beginning of March) so I’ve been wishing & dreaming for Spring a lot lately.

& what do I do when I’m wistfully wishing for Spring? Paint flowers on my nails, of course. & floral was the perfect excuse to really test out my new set of Madam Glam Nail Art Pens I was recently gifted by them.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

How absolutely adorable did these turn out? Honestly, it’s been a while since I really used nail art pens so I was a little rusty, but I think I created a very cute Spring-y look with these Madam Glam nail art pens. They definitely took me a bit of practice, but I do find it you matte-ify your base colour with a matte top coat, it makes it less slippy for drawing your design. It is like using markers on a sheet of paper versus a white board — you get an easier less slippery surface to draw on.

Over all, I’m really impressed with these nail art markers. They make drawing quite simple, & I look forward to testing them out for more designs! Highly recommend!

What do you think about this cute floral look? Have you ever tried nail art pens for creating nail art? Let me know what you think down in the comments below, & what looks you might like to see me attempt with my new collection of Madam Glam Nail Art pens!

Happy Monday!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Essie Cute As A Button

PR/Gifted

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! My first Swatch Sunday in quite a while — sorry about that! But I’m excited to be back, & excited to share a somewhat Spring-y polish with you all. This winter, although not quite over yet, has been a long one, & I think I’m ready to embrace what Spring has to offer. At least when it comes to my nails.

Today’s nail polish pick was kindly gifted to me c/o: L’Oréal & Essie. It is Essie Cute As A Button.

2 coats + top coat

This beautiful pinky coral has been an Essie core shade for a long, long time & there is definitely a reason for that! The shade itself is gorgeous, & it’s a perfect pop of colour. The formula was smooth, easy to apply, & smoothed down to the perfect finish with a quick swipe of top coat (I used Essie Gel Setter).

Oh my gosh, this dress is so juicy & beautiful! It just screams a sunny spring day & that’s what these long end of Winter days are calling for.

As I mentioned, Essie Cute as a Button is one their core shades so it’s available anywhere Essie is sold!

What do you think about this juicy shade? Are you already feeling like dipping into your Spring shades, or are you still embracing Winter? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below! I’m always curious to see what other people are currently wearing.

Happy Sunday

Simple Blue Dotticure (Featuring Madam Glam!)

*contains PR/Gifted Product

Hello lovelies — long. time no see! This month has been a rough one, & sadly that meant I had to take a very unplanned break from blogging. But I’m back, & ready to share all the pretty designs I was creating during my impromptu hiatus.

Today, I am excited because I have some new products to share with you I was gifted from the very kind Madam Glam. They reached out to me about sending me some of their nail polishes & products, & I jumped at the opportunity! You might remember I did a post sharing some of their gel polishes a very years ago, so when I found out they were now doing non-gel nail polishes, I couldn’t wait to try them out! It look a while to reach me (thank you Canada Post strike), but I’m very excited to share all these goodies with you. First thing I did? I’ll have a full swatch post of what I received, but I couldn’t wait to try out some of the goodies & decided to create this fun dotticure design!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

I’m sure you’ve heard me gush about my love for nail art pens before (especially for easy polka dot nails!) so when I saw they now had them in their collection, I knew I needed to try them out! You just open the pen, press down on the tip, then give the pen a shake until you start to see colour. Then draw to your hearts desire!

Super easy, & something I always love for creating nail art. I’ll have many more designs to share using these pens coming soon!

What do you think about this polka dot design I created? I love this pale blue for Spring, even if it is still very much Winter outside my window. Those warmer days are coming, so I’m ready to fully embrace all the Spring vibes I can get my hands on

Hope everyone has a fabulous Thursday!
