Glam Nails Challenge August — Pineapples

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! & happy long weekend to those who are celebrating.

This month I decided to do something I haven’t done in what feels like forever: GlamNailsChallenge! This month’s theme is fruit, which is a fun summery theme, so I’m excited to participate. I feel like it’ll be a fun way to get back into my nail art groove.

& the first prompt: pineapples. 🍍

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

I thought a pineapple pattern look with be super cute, & I love the brightness of the yellow over the blue base. They just pop so well! It’s been a long, long time since I did a fruit themed manicure, but I think the first of this challenge is adorable. Haha I’m not sure how the rest of this challenge is going to go, but I’m excited to get planning for all the different (fruit themed) looks. It’s definitely going to be a challenge for sure!

Pastel Rainbow Accent Nail (with Sally Hansen Rainbow Lights)

Today I have done pretty rainbow nail art to share with you, inspired by the new Sally Hansen Rainbow Lights collection! I’m really, really loving this new collection, & the pastel shades, so I was inspired to create this swirly rainbow accent nail. This is also super easy nail art that I feel anyone with a mail art brush could create this look!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

Look how cute that accent nail is? Like I said in my Swatch Sunday post, I really love the pastel rainbow shades. & I really love how all these shades compliment each other so well! I also wanted to add a few rhinestones to my nails, but since I was wearing this to work & didn’t want rhinestones popping off in people’s coffees, I decided to pull out my bottle of OPI I Snow You Love Me! This polish has always been a favourite because of the tiny round holographic glitters. A great rhinestone alternative.

SWATCH SUNDAY — OPI My Chihuahua Bites!

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

Today I’m pulling one of my favourite OPI shades out of my stash: OPI My Chihuahua Bites! As I’ve mentioned in the past, oh, a million times (roughly), this is one of absolute my favourite coral-y red shades.

2 coats, no top coat

This shade was originally released as part of the 2006 Mexico City collection. I found it at Winners a few years ago, & was very excited because it was on my nail polish wish list.

You’re looking at 2 coats of polish, no top coat. I’m really impressed with the shine without any top coat added. The formula was fantastic—easy to apply, no streakiness. There is a reason why this is my favourite. In fact, I really need to get myself another back up bottle, just in case.

This is an amazing Summer shade. It’s been while since I pulled it out, & I’m honestly glad that I did. We’ve had some seriously crappy, dull weather the last few days so this bright pop of colour is exactly what I need right now.

#GlamNailsChallengeFeb — Hearts 💕

Hello lovelies & happy day after Valentine’s Day (aka 50% off Chocolate Day!).

Today I’m sharing my design for yesterday’s prompt for GlamNailsChaengeFeb: Hearts! Which is a very fitting prompt for February 14th. 💗 This look was one of those ones that kind of just came to me as I was doing it, which are definitely the best kind. & I just adore the end result.

As you can see from my close up, this isn’t the most perfectly clean freehanding, but I kind of like it. It works with this kind of design. It sort of reminds me of another Valentine’s Day nail art look I did a few years back which was inspired by napkins I saw out & about.

What do you think about this hearts look? I’m definitely ready to be done with pink for a while — I think I’ve pink-ed myself out. Haha. But I’ve got a whole bunch more prompts to come, so stay tuned for some beautiful (not pink) nail art looks to come!

#GlamNailsChallengeFeb — Roses

As you can see from the background of my nail art pictures today, it’s Winterland here in Halifax! But on my nails, it’s totally Spring. Today is prompt #3 for GlamNailsChallengeFeb, & it is Roses! & as you know, if you’ve been around the blog a while, roses are one of my favourite things to paint on my nails!

This time I decided to go with a vintage inspired rose look. Usually I tend to go for a more realistic looking floral, but I wanted to try something different!

How pretty did these roses turn out with the black accents. It gives them almost a sketched effect, which I really like. It reminds me a bit of a manicure I did a few years back, obviously with a different colour scheme (& a bit more nail art practice!)

This is my first time wearing this Essence shade in a manicure, I think. I really like the blue background against the brightness of the pink roses. I really think this is a super cute design, both for Valentine’s Day, & Spring in general.

Yep, already dreaming of Spring. Winter can be over now!
