Bright & Vibrant Colour Blocking

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! & Happy April! I hope everyone is having a great week so far — it’s been a very, very wet start to our week here, but hopefully that will encourage some beautiful Spring flowers to pop up in our garden.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Couture Top Coat
  • Base Coat: Essie Hard to Resist Advanced
  • ORLY Put The Top Down
  • Color Club Pucci-licious
  • Essie Bustling Bazaar
  • Quo by ORLY Black Striper
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I love a good negative space colour block look, but I usually only do it with 2 colours — so I thought I would add a 3rd to change things up a little bit. Plus these colours are so bright & vibrant & completely make me forget the mucky weather we’ve been having — & make me think of Spring & Summer days to come! (Just ignored the raindrops that fell on them while I was trying to take pictures.)

What do you think about these colour blocking nails? Are you a fan of this peek a boo negative space look that I have going on? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below! & let me know what you’re wearing on your nails right now.

Neon & Neutral Drag Marble

Hello loves & happy Thursday.

My posting is sporadic this week, as I started a new (second) part time job this week, so I’m trying my best to juggle everything as I get used to it. It’s a busy week for me! But I wanted to make sure I had another manicure to share, & I just love these neon drag marble nails that I did recently.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Essie Gel Couture Gossamer Garments *
  • Essie Throw in the Towel *
  • Essie Expressie Feel the Hype *
  • NailStuff.ca dotting tool from Dotting Tool Trio (tiniest one)

My idea was to do a sheer-ish base, with a neon drag marble. But then I decided to go with a little navy blue & sort of neon. It wasn’t originally the planned design, but I think it turned out nice. Drag marbles are just some of my favourite easy designs, & they look good on any nail length (which I love).

What do you think about these drag marble nails? A little break up from the dark & gloomy nail shades I’ve been feeling lately!

Also, I did a big chop on my nails for beginning my new part time job (as a barista), so look forward to seeing lots of short nail designs in the near future!

Happy Thursday loves

Frankenstein’s Monster French Manicure 🧟‍♀️

*contains PR

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! I hope everyone’s week is going well so far. Today I’m sharing another perfect Halloween manicure to get us ready! This look was partially inspired by @polished_yogi & a recent post featuring Halloween designs — but I decided to take my own spin on it.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Matte Top Coat: NailStuff Essentials Matte Top Coat *
  • Essie Expressie Main Character Moment *
  • Quo By Orly Black Striper

*gifted

I love the look of French manicures on other people, but I’ve never been able to make them look good on me. If someone knows the trick to making them look so good, I would love to know. However, I do think these are probably the best looking French nails I’ve ever attempted, & they’re fun too!

I do a version of Frankenstein’s monster nails every year, so it’s fun to try & keep it fresh. I only wish I had thought to add some glow in the dark nail polish over my tips because I did the black stitching because it would have looked really cool. Oh well, always next time!

What do you think of these Halloween-y nails? Do you like this stitched up French manicure look? Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

Happy Thursday!

SWATCH SUNDAY — Color Club Bright Night

Good morning lovelies & happy Sunday! It’s a beautiful sunny Sunday here on the East Coast — & not too humid, which is a nice change of pace. The mornings are already starting to give us those small hints that Autumn isn’t too, too far away.

& I kind of love it.

Today, I’m sharing a fun polish I pulled from my stash which I feel like is perfect for both late Summer/early Fall vibes. This is Color Club Bright Night.

2 coats + top coat

This beautiful cobalt blue was originally released as part of the Summer 2013 collection, but then became part of the permanent core collection because she’s still available on the Color Club website.

The formula on this one was easy to work with. With it being slightly neon, it does have a bit of a matte finish, so like all mattes it dries a bit quicker so two coats was definitely required to alleviate any patchiness. & of course, I added top coat for a glossy finish.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good blue nail polish — especially a cobalt blue! This shade reminds me a bit of Sinful Colors Endless Blue so I would be curious to do a comparison between the two to see how close they are.

& if you have both these polishes & have compared them — let me know down in the comments below!

What do you think about Color Club Bright Night? Are you a fan of these bright cobalt blue shades as well? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

Happy Sunday 💙

SWATCH SUNDAY Quo Beauty Mango Tango

Hello lovelies & happy sunny Sunday. It’s hot & humid today, so I thought I would dig into my stash to find a fun Summer shade for this week’s Swatch Sunday post & this vibrant coral from Quo Beauty was the perfect pick.

This is Quo Beauty Mango Tango.

2 coats + top coat

I believe I originally picked up this shade on clearance from my local Shoppers Drug Mart last Summer (Quo Beauty is Shoppers in house beauty brand). The polish itself is a stunning fiery coral which is very, very neon. Sometimes it leans more orange, sometimes more red.

Formula was smooth & easy to apply. 2 coats for full coverage, & it dries quite quickly which is a bonus.

Does this colour not just scream summer time? I can practically smell the sunscreen. It’s also a great shade for bringing out your sun tan, or making it look like you have a suntan. My photos definitely leaned a bit more red, but it person I feel like it complimented my olive undertones to give me that mid-Summer tanned vibe I love.

What do you think about Quo Beauty Mango Tango? Do you love this juicy coral for Summer time? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below, & if you’d wear this beauty on your nails!

Happy Sunday
