Candy Cane Abstract Stripes (featuring W7 mini polishes)

Hello beauties & happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a lovely Black Friday weekend. Mine was busy–obviously… retail life–but surprisingly fun. & I’m finally starting to feel the holiday vibes. So I’m starting to dig into all my kind of Christmas-y polishes.

Recently I picked up a little polish mini set from Marshall’s by the brand w7. They had a whole selection of mini packs, so I decided to pick the one named “Centre Stage” which had 4 very Christmas-y colours, & a clear top coat. I’ve been staring at this little set for a few weeks now, sitting on my desk, so I decided to finally grab it & create a pretty, & festive, nail art look.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-chip Top Coat
  • w7 White
  • w7 Red
  • w7 Green
  • w7 Gold Dazzle
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

How freaking festive is this nail art look? I love it! These were the perfect nails to wear for Black Friday for sure. Unfortunately, they got a bit chipped up, but other than that I absolutely adore this look. I did a similar version last year, but when you find a nail art look you love, why not keep returning to it!

Plus abstract stripes are so easy to do. They’re very hard to mess up, & even if you kind of do, they’re easy to fix any messes.

What do you think about these abstract candy cane stripe nails? Are you getting excited for Christmas/holiday nail designs? Glam Nails Challenge December is coming, & I’ve already started planning my nail designs for it.

Holo & Snowflakes (featuring some NailStuff.ca goodies)

Features Gifted Product

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday!

It’s officially a little over a month until Christmas, can you believe it? I feel like I should really start thinking about Christmas shopping soon, but things have been in this weird adjustment period, I really haven’t had a lot of time to think about anything holly or jolly.

I was feeling some nail art the other night, but I was also feeling super tired — I recently started a new job, so after a few weeks off, I’ve been adjusting back into work life. & I’m tired, haha. But I wanted some cute nails, so I decided to grab some of my nail goodies from Nailstuff.ca. I thought some snowflake nails might, just, inspire me to feeling festive.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-chip Top Coat
  • Dimension Nails Great Blue Heron (c/o: NailStuff.ca)
  • Starrily Eclipse (c/o: NailStuff.ca) (Holographic Top Coat)
  • NailStuff.ca snowflake stickers (not currently available but she does have other cute Christmas stickers right now)

So I definitely applied these stickers when my base shade was still a bit too wet, hence a bit of a 3D effect on some of my nails. But I think these little snowflakes look so cute over the blue holographic base. I wanted something kind of dusty, but with a holo kick, & this combination was perfect! Also, somehow, I think this is the first time I’ve worn Dimension Nails Great Blue Heron as a full manicure, & that’s kind of crazy. It’s such a beautiful blue!

What do you think of my easy snowflake nails? Do you like seeing easy manicures like this, or do you prefer more complicated nail art? I have a few more “easy” looks to share, & then we’ll be jumping into Glam Nails Challenge December so stay tuned! I plan on having something for everyone.

Fall Houndstooth Skittlette

Hello beauties — long time no see! I know, it’s been quiet on the blog front, again. It was an interesting weekend, that saw me get that lovely stomach sickness my kids had. Not fun. Have I mentioned I hate Winter & sickness season?

But I’m back, I feel better, & I even managed to paint my nails! I was feeling some Fall inspired skittlette nails, inspired by fellow Canadian nail blogger GrapeFizzNails & here stunning colour combinations — only I wanted to throw a little extra accent nail action into the mix. Mostly because I’ve been itching to use the old Born Pretty stamping plate featuring this houndstooth pattern.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-chip Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Pat on the Black
  • Sally Hansen CSM Berry Fancy
  • Sally Hansen CSM Clean Slate
  • Sally Hansen CSM Let It Snow
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Goldie Rocks
  • Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Shooting Star
  • Born Pretty Store Classic Patterns Stamping Plate BP-L006
  • Nailstuff.ca clear stamper & scraper set

Okay, please ignore the weird stamped hair on that accent finger. Haha. Second how Autumn-esque is this colour combination. I love how these turned out with the darker plum/purple shades & then the sparkle from the golds on my middle finger. It turned out really pretty, & I really like the whole combination. Who needs to wear just one colour on their nails when you can wear all the colours on your nails!

What do you think of my houndstooth skittlette design? Do you like these colour combining manicures? What colours are you feeling right now? Have you gone full on holiday-manicure mode yet? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Icy Blue & Gold Glitter

Good morning lovelies & Happy Tuesday!

I can’t believe we’re a full week into November—& I’m not going to lie… it’s been quite the week. Post Halloween I ended up with the stomach virus my kids had, all while preparing for the last couple days at my jobs. Hence why it’s been extremely quit. But I’m feeling better, & have a crazy amount of free time on my hands, so how about some nail art!

Todays it’s an old favourite nail art technique: glitter placement. I’m also wearing a nail polish I haven’t ever worn — the new formula of Sally Hansen Pacific Blue.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-chip Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue (the new formula)
  • Essence Cosmetics Steeling the Scene
  • Small dotting tool (I always use mine from NailStuff.ca — Dotting Tool Trio)

Okay, so first off: I know I’ve talked a lot about how mad at Sally Hansen I am that they replaced the original amazing & flawless Pacific Blue, & I still am because they messed with perfection. BUT I won’t lie — this new version, as a separate polish on it’s own, is beautiful & frosty, & a great late Fall/Winter polish. It kind of reminds me of China Glaze Frostbite, which means I might have to do a comparison post soon!

Also this bottle of Essence Steel-ing The Scene has been in my stash since almost the beginning, & it still remains my go to for a nail art look like this. I’ve bought other shard glitters over the years, but I always seem to go back to this beauty. It’s a classic, in my opinion. But you can’t argue with how pretty the look is. & if you’re already thinking about those holiday party looks, this is an easy one you can do with minimal effort, in any colour scheme you need!

November is such a weird time for nail art — I feel like I struggle with it every year. But with some open days ahead of me, & time to fill, I’m hoping to get creative & show off some fun nail art looks in this pre-Christmas season. Let me know if they’re are any nail art looks you’re dying to see, & I’ll try my best to make wishes come through!

Have a lovely Tuesday.

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE OCTOBER — Skull 💀

Hello beauties, & happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone’s week is going by wonderfully. Mine has been… interesting but I’m excited to show off these fun nails for the second last prompt of Glam Nails Challenge October: skull.

I was especially excited because it gave me another chance to use the Color Club Skull stamping plate I purchased last year.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

How fun! I just picked up this bottle of OPI Vampsterdam at Marshall’s the other day, so I was pumped to wear it right away. A lovely Autumn shade. & a great base for these skulls.

What do you think about these skulls? Can you believe how quickly Halloween is approaching?! Only one more prompt to go before this month’s challenge is over!

Have a lovely Wednesday.
