Holiday Tartan 🧣🎄

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! A chill-y Monday here on the East Coast. I am so not a winter girlie, that is for sure! But, I do love Winter nail art, so I guess it’s a Catch 22.

Today’s nail art look screams holiday vibes. If there is one thing you can count on in the cooler months, it is that I will be rocking some plaid/tartan nails. & these ones are inspired by my family tartan that I grew up wearing every Christmas without fail.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Essie Gel Couture Rock The Runway *
  • Essie Bourdeaux *
  • Essie Off Tropic *
  • Essie Feel The Hype *
  • Essie Blanc
  • Essie Leggy Legend
  • Quo by Orly Striper Black
  • Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail 11mm liner brush

I’m not going to lie, I am so freaking proud of how this plaid turned out! Sometimes when I attempt a plaid, it turns out unintentionally chaotic, but this one turned out so close to the actual tartan that I almost cried. Okay, maybe that’s a smidge dramatic — but I was very very happy! & proud.

What do you think about my holiday tartan nails? Did you grow up wearing some specific during the holidays? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below! I’d love to hear all about your Christmas fashion traditions.

Happy Monday!

Glittery Dotticure

Hello loves & happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

As you may have noticed in yesterday’s post, I’m back to rocking shorter nails. & Sometimes short nails can feel kind of lame, so I decided to do something fun. I’m all about the glitter right now, so I felt like some sparkle was much needed — & I wanted to create another version of this nail art look I did last New Year’s Eve, but with a darker base this time.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • OPI Less is Norse
  • OPI Infinite Shine Put On Something Ice
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

How cute are these little sparkles? I tried my best to get a little sparkle in each dot but it wasn’t always the easiest. Still looks so pretty against the darker blue base shade of Less is Norse.

It’s also giving me Christmas inspo to try this with a white base & green & red glittery polishes!

What do you think of this glittery dotticure on my new shorties? Do you like this look? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below & let me know what you’re wearing right now!

SWATCH SUNDAY — OPI Fire Escape Rendezvous (OPI Holiday 2016 Breakfast at Tiffany’s Collection)

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! I hope everyone has been having a lovely weekend. I actually had this weekend off from work, so I’ve been relaxing & enjoying doing a whole lot of nothing — especially since Holiday shopping craziness is really kicking into high gear!

Today I’m excited to share another fun OPI Holiday shade, this time from 2016! This is Fire Escape Rendezvous.

2 coats + top coat

The formula on this shade is pretty easy to work with. The base is a beautiful almost metallic blood red filled with a slew of different shaped silver glitters. They create an interesting texture on the nail, as the base is thin enough to show them off, but still buries them slightly. I know not everyone loved this shade when it first got released — it’s not as hated as say, Pineapples Have Peelings Too, but it wasn’t universally loved. Personally, I love it & its uniqueness. Plus, it’s one of those reds that when I wear it, I’ve had people literally go “Oh your nails!

I remember being so beyond excited when OPI released this Breakfast At Tiffany’s collection for Holiday 2016, because it’s been one of my favourite movies as long as I can remember. Back when it was first released (8 years ago… how crazy is that?!) I was 7 months pregnant with my son, so buying the whole collection wasn’t in my budget, but I did find this red shade at my local Marshall’s & naturally had to snap it up.

I just think it’s so unique & different, & as someone who owns a ton of reds, I like one that it slightly different.

Do you remember Fire Escape Rendezvous from the OPI Holiday 2016 collection? Do you own any of the shades from this Breakfast at Tiffany’s collection? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Happy Sunday

Glittery Snow Globe Inspired Nails ❄️❄️❄️

Hello loves & happy Wednesday! A chilly, icy, windy Wednesday here. Winter is quickly approaching, so I feel like some snowflake nails aren’t completely out of the realm of possibility.

I’m officially going all in on the holiday nails so if you have any requests for fun nails, let me know! I’m always up for creating some fun holiday looks to inspire people.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: NailStuff Essentials Base Coat *
  • Top Coat: Nail Stuff Essentials Quick Dry Top Coat *
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Living in the Presents
  • OPI Pirouette My Whistle
  • NailStuff.ca Snowflake stickers

*PR/Gifted

Don’t these just remind you of a snow globe? I love how they turned out. These were so super easy to do, & I love how beautiful they look. Plus the thick glossy top coat from NailStuff Essentials really sealed in the stickers so you don’t have to worry about any edges sticking up.

They just turned out so beautiful, & I love how that the colours are more subdued but then you also get the fun glitter.

What do you think about these glittery snowflake nails? Sadly, this was the last manicure I did with long nails — I had a pretty awful break after I wore them, & am now rocking some serious shorties. But they’ll be fun to do some Holiday nail art looks on my shorties, & also inspire those with shorties as well!

Happy Wednesday!
