SWATCH SUNDAY — Glam Doll Electronica

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

There is nothing more that I love than discovering a new to me nail polish brand! It’s quite exciting, like finding buried treasure or something. Truly, it’s very exciting to be perusing a store & stumble upon a polish brand I’ve never discovered before.

That’s what happened last week when I stumbled across this pretty bottle of polish while checking out a pharmacy I never go to. & I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you, especially because my Google research couldn’t find much at all about this nail polish brand.

2 coats over a base of Essence Take Me To Heaven

The second I saw those beautiful glittery shade, I was smitten. The formula is pretty a pretty thin cruelly, with a lot of pf glitter crammed in. There are metallic fushica micro glitters, slightly larger neon green & blue glitters, & then larger cobalt blue hex glitters.

I chose to apply it over some baby blue undies, to cut down on coats I needed to apply, but I would assume you would need 3 or 4 coats for full-ish opacity. You could also get away with one coat over a blue base, if you were feeling a less concentrated glitter look. For me, 2 coats over some undies was perfect

This polish seems very Spring-y & fun. It reminds me a bit of the Nails INC Sprinkles collection that was released around 2012. In fact, when looking them up online it is awfully similar to Pudding Lane — which of course was the only one from the collection that I didn’t find back then so I can’t do a proper comparison. But from looking online, I’d say they’re pretty darn close.

Matte Spring Floral Accent Nail

Hello lovelies & happy Friday!

The weekend is finally here, which is always exciting. Of course, I work all weekend, but that is besides the point . The weather is finally beginning to feel more Spring-like around here, on occasion, so naturally I want to match that mood with my nails.

Especially since around here, it can turn back to Winter in the matter of a few hours.

I’ve really been craving Spring florals so much lately. Floral just makes everything better. & I just thought a floral would look so beautiful as an accent to this new glittery polish I recently picked up.

How cute does this mani look paired against the flowers I got at work? Give me all the florals!

I really like the simplicity of this floral over the glitter, & the matte top coat brought everything together. It gives the glitter polish the look of almost robin’s eggs–serious Spring vibes–& the white flower pops against the blue base. I love it.

Glam Nails Challenge March — Geometric

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! It’s officially half way through the week, & honestly it feels like it’s speeding by. Maybe because this week has had hints of Spring, not just Winter storm after winter storm.

Today I have a fun & funky nail art look to share for Glam Nails Challenge March. Today’s prompt is Geometric, & it’s definitely been a while since my last geometric design, so I was definitely excited to get creative! I used to love coming up with designs like this, so it was fun to get a little old school with my nail art.

How much fun are these? I love them because the colours aren’t necessarily ones that I would normally pair together, but they’re so much fun! It’s definitely a more striking look than I’ve been wearing lately, & just felt so much fun on my nails. Plus the black looks really good as the outline.

Honestly, when I was doing these I really wasn’t sure if I was going to like them, which happens sometimes, but when they were all finished, they made me so happy. Does that ever happen to anyone else? You’re in the middle of your mani & you’re like “I’m not sure I’m going to like these…” but then when you’re finished, you’re just so in love. Maybe I’m the only one.

Glam Nails Challenge March — Hearts 💚

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! It’s a brand new, fresh week. Hopefully this one will be warmer & more Spring-like (although, I’ll be honest… my hopes are not too high.)

But — I have a brand new look for Glam Nails Challenge March, & I’m excited. The prompt is hearts. Originally I had a completely different heart look done, but I’ll be honest: I was not feeling it. & it did not photograph well. So I did what any crazy person does… I completely redid the manicure at the very last second. & I absolutely adore how they turned out!

I’m calling this look Spring Floral Heart, & it turned out exactly how I pictured in my head. This was originally what I thought about doing, but decided to go with a dry marble heart look, which was kind of ugly, so I’m glad I switched back to my original idea.

These were actually pretty easy to do. I started by freehanding my green heart, then added a few tiny flowers & finished off with some green leaf details. & it turned out so beautiful & Spring-y. This is definitely a look I will be attempting again because it’s just lovely!

I mean, how beautiful would this be as a wedding manicure?

SWATCH SUNDAY — OPI Two Timing the Zones

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

Another stormy, snowy Sunday is on its way here… because Winter just isn’t getting the message that it needs to go. So I thought I’d brighten things up a bit with a Spring/Summer polish pick from a few years ago: OPI Two Timing the Zones.

2 coats, no top coat

Two Timing the Zones was originally released in 2017 as part of the Spring/Summer Fiji collection. I picked up this beauty, along with a few others, in a pack of 4 mini polishes that I actually won thanks to an Instagram contest.

This is such a fun, summery shade. The formula on this guy is pretty easy to work with, & has full coverage in 2 coats. My swatches were without base or top coat, to see the colour all on its own. I definitely thinking adding a layer of top coat, especially a thicker glossier one, would definitely give it some extra punch.

The shade is really pretty. It kind of reminds me of flamingos, which reminds me of all things Summer, so I’m here for it! & I just want warmer weather, & sunny days, & sandal weather already. This would be such a cute pedicure colour.

So like I said, this shade was originally released as part of the 2017 Fiji collection. But, apparently Beyond Polish still has the collection available in regular, Infinite Shine & Gel, so if you need this shade, you can definitely still add it to your collection!
