Dainty Negative Space Daisies 🌼

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! The last Monday of June.

Today I’m showing off some new nail art I did with a few of the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends shades on my itty bitty baby nails. Yes — I am back to baby nails. I took last week off with posting because I was actually really, really mad with my break. But now I’ve had a week to reflect (& calm down) & I’m feeling better.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends Central Pink
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends A Moo Point
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends Yellow Taxi
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends The One With the Teal
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush

This nail art look was inspired by @nailpolishedlife on Instagram — this look in particular. She does really stunning dainty designs, so I was excited to recreate this on myself. Also, it’s giving me Y2K vibes, which I’m really into right now. The nostalgia is real. But I think this was the perfect design to get me out of my nail art funk I’ve been in lately, & back to feeling like myself.

Plus this design was super easy to do, which is always a plus in my books.

What do you think about this dainty daisy design? Would you wear a look like this on your nails? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

It’s been super quiet on the blog front this week — there was a lot going on behind the scenes, so nail polish had to take a bit of a step back. But I’m super excited because not only am I starting with a very exciting Swatch Sunday post, but I’m starting with a very exciting, absolutely jammed pack Swatch Sunday post featuring the brand new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel x Friends collection!

To say I’m excited would be an understatement. As soon as I saw the collection being released — and heard the names — I was so hoping I would get a chance to get my hands on some of this collection. & Thanks to the absolute dolls at Sally Hansen, they gifted me with the most amazing PR package featuring all these beautiful shades. Coffee Inspired Drag Marble (featuring Essie x Révolutionnaire collab shades)

Features Gifted Product in Exchange for Content

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! It is Tuesday right, haha? Between long weekends & crazy work hours, I’m definitely feeling out of whack. But I’m excited because I was recently gifted some beautiful shades by Essie as part of their Essie x Révolutionnaire collaboration. For those who don’t know, Révolutionnaire.co was created by Nina & Justice, & is a brand & platform committed to celebrating diversity and inclusivity, and fighting for social justice.

& they’ve teamed up with Essie for a beautiful collection of Expressie shades. I was lucky enough to be gifted the whole collection which includes 6 shades — Take the Espresso, Cold Brew Crew, Buns Up, Millennium Momentum, Daily Grind, & Always Transparent. I have full Swatches coming, but in the meantime I just had to do a fun coffee inspired drag marble after seeing these beautiful colours — &, okay, maybe the polish names inspired me slightly too.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Glow & Shine
  • Top Coat: Essie Expressie Always Transparent
  • Essie Expressie Buns Up
  • Essie Expressie Daily Grind
  • Essie Expressie Cold Brew Crew
  • Essie Expressie Take the Expresso
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio (I use the tiniest end)

This was my first experience using Essie Expressie shades, & they’re just lovely. I’ll get into all those details with my swatch post, but they were awesome for this drag marble look. Sometimes when you’re using so many shades, they can start to dry too quickly, but I didn’t find that happened with these. However, the polish over all did dry pretty well , especially after I topped them with Always Transparent. No pulling, or smearing, either.

I love how much these reminds me of coffee/latte art. As a self confessed coffee addict, I love anything coffee related. & these shades just called to coffee inspired look!

What do you think about this coffee inspired drag marble? Does this look remind you of coffee? Have you checked out the new Essie x Révolutionnaire collection? You can purchase it via the Révolutionnaire.co site, or at your local Shoppers Drug Mart. Collection is out now!

Purple Floral for @brydiedoesnails Birthday Collab!

Hello beauties & happy Tuesday. A very Monday-esque Tuesday, but I feel like that’s always the way after a holiday.

It’s feeling very Spring-like today, even though we have a big rainstorm heading our way. But while the sun is out, I thought I would share you a lovely design I did as part of a birthday collab for @brydiedoesnails birthday today!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • OPI After Alter
  • Essie PlayDate
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • OPI Good Grief
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
  • NailStuff.ca 4mm Micro Detail Brush

I decided I wanted to recreate this beautiful floral by Brydie, & it was not an easy decision to make! She has so, so many beautiful designs–especially floral!–that I must have saved quite a few trying to decide. Bit this soft purple just worked so well with the semi-sheer base. The over all look turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined, & I’m very, very happy with them.

Here is a look at all the beautiful designs done in honour of @brydiedoesnails! You can check out all the looks by clicking on the hashtag #brydiesbirthdaycollab on Instagram.

These are the girls that all participated in the collab!

Y2K inspired Swirls & Daisies

Hello lovelies! & happy Friday! & happy April 1st — I promise there are no April Fools Day jokes today.

Todays look is a fun one! It’s half inspired by the fact that 2000 style is now making a resurgence & half inspired by discovering the show Popular on YouTube, which I was obsessed with in Junior High.

I also found some frosty sheer shades during my last trip to Shoppers (on sale for $2.99!) that I very much reminded me of my teen nail polish collection.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure Hardener
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Iris Illusion
  • Essie Play Date
  • Londontown Lakur Mint no Chip
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • Essie Set in Sandstone
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

Not going to lie, wearing these reminds me of my days going to Claire’s & picking up funky tattoo street necklaces, platform sneakers, & begging my parents for one of those inflatable chairs that were kind of see-through — which I did eventually get, although I think it bust a leak in the first week I had it.

This was a super easy look, & even though that Iris Illusion took 3 coats, & still isn’t opaque, I feel like that’s the whole point of this shade. I had tried it out over some white undies, & honestly it looked horrible. I much prefer this kind of naked, kind of not state that it gives you — it makes a great base for nail art!

What do you think about this nail art look? Are you feeling the 90s/2000s trends that are coming back?

I’m not sure how I feel about the returning fashion trends—I should have saved my old clothes—but I am excited about the return of flare jeans! Not that I ever stopped wearing them, but I’m happy to be on trend again!

Have a great Friday loves!
