Dainty Pink & Blue Dotticure

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! A brand new week which is always exciting. It’s also Valentine’s Day this week, so I expect to be busy at work because who doesn’t want candy for Valentine’s Day?

Today though, I’m sharing my last design I did during my week break from blogging (& before I chopped my nails down short.) In my opinion, a dainty dotticure is always a good idea!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat
  • Essie License to Thrill
  • Sally Hansen I 💗 Nail Art Pen in pink

I am so ready to petition Sally Hansen to bring back these I 💗 Nail Art pens because they just make dotticure & polka dots so freaking easy! Like look at these! I could never get polka dots as clean & as perfect as these with a dotting tool, no matter how hard I try. I’m just absolutely obsessed & I really wish they would bring them back already!

What do you think about this dainty dotticure? Do you love a petite polka dot as much as I do? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Pink Glittery Stripes

Hello loves & happy Monday! As happy as a cold January Monday can be. I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Today I’m starting off a new week with some new nail art — because that’s what we do around here.

Today’s look was an add on to yesterday’s Swatch Sunday pick. I was digging the pink nail polish, so I decided to add onto it (& keep the pink theme going!)

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: China Glaze Calcium Gel Fortifer
  • Top Coat: Essie Speed Setter
  • Quo Beauty Show Stopper
  • Rimmel London Pulsating
  • Ardene pink glitter (missing name)
  • Ardene Kiss By A Rose
  • Revlon Nail Art Duo 350 Ulterior Motif (just the rose gold glitter striper)
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod
  • 16mm NailStuff.ca striper brush

Okay I know these are very pink, & maybe it’s a smidge too early for anything Valentine’s Day, but these January days are long & depressing, so bring in the bright pink manicures! It’s been so long since I’ve done a simple stripe look too, so this just makes me happy.

& we can all use a little extra happiness now a days.

What do you think about this pink glittery stripe design? Do you love it as much as I do? What colours are you digging right now? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Happy Monday 💗

SWATCH SUNDAY — Quo Beauty Show Stopper

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday — the first Sunday of 2024.

Today’s Swatch Sunday pick is actually a reader request! I had someone on my Facebook message to ask if I had any pictures of Quo Beauty Show Stopper, & it made me realize I had this shade in my stash — but hadn’t actually swatched it. So immediately I had to pull it out so I could feature it for this week’s Swatch Sunday post!

2 coats + Top Coat

Quo Beauty Show Stopper is a beautiful shimmery fuchsia, with a flash of hot pink depending on how you move your hand. It’s from the Breathable line, so it’s designed to be “healthier” on the nail — allowing your nails to “breathe”.

The formula on this one was easy to apply, giving me full coverage in 2 coats. On its own, it dries down to a nice shiny finish, but I did apply top coat as I was planning on wearing it for a few days. The shimmer is absolutely beautiful, & give me early Valentine’s Day vibes.

Quo Beauty nail polishes are a Shoppers Drug Mart exclusive brand, which means it’s sold exclusively in Canada. The Breathable line retails for $13.49 CAD, although you can on occasion tucked into to clearance bin–which is, I’m pretty sure, where I picked up my bottle.

This shade can also be purchased from the Shoppers Drug Mart website if you cannot find it in store.

What do you think about Quo Beauty Show Stopper? Are you a fan of shimmery pink polishes like this? Have you already started feeling those Valentine’s Day vibes? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

& if you ever have a nail polish you’d love to see me feature on here, reach out! I’m always down to share the nail polish love.

SWATCH SUNDAY — China Glaze Better Not Pout

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday.

Today is the first Sunday of December, so it only seems fitting to share another holiday shade from my stash! Today’s shade was also part of the 2015 China Glaze Cheers collection, like last week’s Swatch Sunday pick I Soirée I Didn’t Do It.

This is China Glaze Better Not Pout.

2 coats + top coat

This beautiful metallic berry applied in two smooth coats. It dried down a little less shiny, so I applied a coat of top coat to give it some extra gloss. The colour itself is very festive, & a great alternative to red or green for the holiday season. The dark berry colour is definitely one I enjoy wearing (I kept this shade on for 3 days!)

You could also do some great holiday nail art with it as well.

Like last week’s pick, this shade was originally released as part of the holiday collection, so it’s no longer in permanent circulation—however, you can buy the Gelaze version on the China Glaze website for those who use gel nail polish.

What do you think about this beautiful holiday berry? Do you have Better Not Pout in your nail polish stash? Would you wear this shade to a holiday party? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below!

Happy Sunday 💗

Purple Triangle Geometric Accent Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Friday! The weekend is almost here.

Today’s nail art look is feeling unintentionally Autumn inspired, even though I swear I’m still in a Summer state of mind. I was feeling more nail vinyls, & remembered these geometric triangle vinyl as I still had from TheBaseCoat, & knew I needed to put them to good use.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colour Grip Primer Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Glossy Top Coat
  • OPI Infinite Shine Sound of Vibrance
  • OPI Infinite Shine Mariachi Makes My Day
  • OPI Cannoli Wear OPI
  • OPI Press * For Silver
  • The Base Coat Vinyls
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

I really didn’t think these nails were going to lean so dark & Autumn, but that’s okay — I love them anyways. I would have done all my nails with my vinyls, but I’m starting to get low with this pattern—it’s one of my favourites—& they’re not in production any more.

It just looks so cute! & I added the little tiny dots as accents, & I think it just gives it something a little extra. Yes, early Autumn vibes — but I’m not mad about it! It’s just a little taste.

What do you think of this accent nail design with these geometric triangle vinyls? Are you a fan of accent nail art like this? What kind of nail art are you loving right now?
