Funky & Bright Drag Marble Nails

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! I hope your week has been going well so far. It’s a very wet, & grey, week here so far — & it’s supposed to last all the way into next week, so that’s less than ideal.

So let’s go back a few days when it was sunny, & warm, & I matched the weather with these colourful drag marble nails! These Essie shades were sitting on my nail desk, & I just had to combine them together. & I’m so glad I did because they look so good together.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Londontown KUR Nail Hardener & Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry
  • Essie Turquoise & Caicos
  • Essie Worth the Tassel
  • Essie Revenge’s A Beach
  • Essie Peach Side Babe
  • Extra tiny dotting tool (NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio)

Please excuse the bubbles on my thumb — I added top coat a little too soon to this one. But I really love the swirling on this one!

Drag marbles are definitely time consuming to do — you have to go one finger at a time. But the end result is always awesome! This colour combination, especially, just looks so cool.

What do you think about this bright drag marble? Have you ever done a drag marble design before? I love the look of actual water-marble, but I’ve never been able to be successful at it, so this is my go-to alternative. Not quite the same idea, but just as fun!

Holo Mermaid Vibes 🧜🏼‍♀️

Hello lovelies & happy Monday!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend — the last full weekend of June. This means we are almost officially half way through this year, & I just need to slow down a smidge. But I thought we could, & should, start this week off on a sparkly vibe with the nails I wore this past weekend to celebrate my daughter’s 4th birthday. She decided on a Mermaid Princess party, & naturally that means I needed my nails to match.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Londontown KUR Nail Hardener & Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry
  • Essie Gel Couture Princess Charming
  • Essie Expressie FX Iced Out
  • Color Club Bewitched
  • Color Club Crystal Baller
  • Color Club Eternal Beauty
  • Color Club Trick of the Trade
  • Beyond the Nail Mermaid Vinyls

I think these turned out absolutely magical & they were perfect for the theme of the party & the whole day. It was a beautiful sunny day, so the sparkle really came out — which I was hoping for! Originally I was thinking you couldn’t really see the scale pattern, but they got noticed for sure. & my little girl was excited about them!

I don’t have pictures, but she rocked a fun combo of Essie Bikini So Teeny & Birthday Girl for her birthday manicure, with a few nautical themed stickers as accents. The perfect look for my birthday princess.

& a quick pic of my with my birthday princess. My nails almost matched her new special bathing suit!

Have a fantastic Monday loves. ♥︎

SWATCH SUNDAY — Essie Willow in the Wind

•PR/Gifted•

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday this weekend (her birthday is today) with a mermaid themed party, so it’s definitely been busy! But that doesn’t mean I didn’t have time to paint my nails for this weekend’s Swatch Sunday — especially since I received the most epic nail polish package from Essie on Friday! So obviously, I couldn’t let this weekend pass by without painting my nails with at least one colour!

Today’s pick: Essie Willow in The Wind from the Swoon in the Lagoon collection (I also received Swoon in the Lagoon & Frilly Lillies as well.) This colour is so out of my usual comfort zone, but I couldn’t get past how beautiful & unique this shade was, so I had to wear it first!

2 coats + top coat

I would describe this green as a kermit green, which is so far outside my usual go to shades, but there is something so vibrant & fresh about this shade! This is two coats, but the formula was pretty flawless, so I feel a bit like my second coat was more of a “comfort” coat than anything else — with the except of a few sparse spots that needed another coat. The wide brush on the Essie bottle made it easy to apply the polish to my whole nail in one quick swipe, which is always a good thing.

So squishy & lush! This is definitely going to be a part of my regular nail art arsenal for floral, because I feel like this is the perfect green for leaves! Is it a shade I’m going to wear on it’s own on the regular? Probably not. But as part of some nail art, I think it’s going to be amazing. & who knows… maybe I’m becoming a green girl!

Essie Willow in the Wind should be available anywhere Essie shades are available, including these online stores:

What do you think of this lush green shade from Essie? Are you as obsessed with Willow in the Wind as I am? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below.

Have a fantastic Sunday! ♥︎

Barbie Glitter Nails 💗

Hello lovelies & happy Friday!

It’s a beautiful sunny Summer day here, & I feel like these nails are perfect for a Summer day. I actually wore this look most of the week, which is very unusual for me, so I figured I had to share! It’s a simple look, but also is a little extra fancy compared to just a plain design. & it’s giving me serious Barbie vibes.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Londontown KUR Nail Hardener & Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry
  • Essie Worth the Tassel
  • ACO by Ardene Pop To It

I was actually debating which glitter I should apply over Worth the Tassel, as I have a few neon glitters from Ardene. But as soon as I applied this pink, I knew I made the right decision. & come on, you can totally picture Malibu Barbie wearing this manicure!

What do you think of this glitter look? Would you rock a Barbie-esque manicure like this? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below.

& enjoy the weekend vibes!

Abstract Shorties

Hello lovelies & happy first day of Summer to those in the northern hemisphere! & it actually feels very Summer like today, which is very exciting. I’m definitely here for it, & all things Summer related.

Todays look is a quick abstract design I applied over my base of OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI from my Swatch Sunday post for this week. I wanted to extend my wear another day or so, & decided an abstract look was the perfect way to do that!

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Londontown KUR Nail Hardener & Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive Fast Dry
  • OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
  • Essie Revenge’s A Beach
  • Essie Turquoise & Caicos
  • Essie Merino Cool
  • OPI Who You Callin’ Bossy?!
  • Small dotting tool — NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool

As you can see, I’m rocking extra shorties right now thanks to a break on my ring finger at work on Saturday.

Normally I would be upset about it, but I’m kind of enjoying shorter nails right now. I find when my nails are square, I prefer a shorter length to them. Plus I love showing off that you can rock fun nail art no matter the length of your nails!

What do you think of these abstract shorties? Are you a fan of looks like these? Let me know all your thoughts down in the comments below, & what colour scheme you would choose.

Have a lovely Wednesday ☀️
