GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE OCTOBER 2025 — Skeleton 💀

Happy Halloween week lovelies! The countdown is officially on to my most favourite night of the year! Has everyone figured out their costumes?

We also only have two prompts left for Glam Nails Challenge October — how crazy is that?! I’ve had so much fun joining in this month, & I’m really glad I did. It’s just what I needed to get inspired to paint my nails again!

Todays prompt? Skeleton. & I thought it would be fun to do a design featuring the Halloween King himself — Jack Skellington.

The polishes I used for this manicure are: 

  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen InstaDri Top Coat (red bottle) 
  • Base Coat: Essie Hard to Resist (purple)
  • Essie Bahama Mama
  • OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI
  • Quo by Orly Nail Art Striper Black
  • Essence Chic Reloaded
  • NailStuff.ca 7mm Mermaid Tail Liner Brush

So my original plan was to use Essie Wicked as my base colour, but when I went to Walmart they didn’t have it in their display! So I went with another darker shade — Bahama Mama. Less of a spooky vibe, but the colour is really nice.

& I love how everything just came together.

SWATCH SUNDAY — Essie No More Film

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! Can you believe this is the last Sunday of October — where has the month gone?! It’s kind of crazy we only have 2 months left (basically) of 2025. &, I don’t know about you, but I’m very ready to say goodbye to this year. It has been the most difficult one for so many people, & I’m just hoping we can coast by until 2026 wifh minimal drama.

Today, let’s concentrate on nails though — shall we. I was feeling a navy blue, one of my favourite non-reds to go to, & this one basically just jumped out of my stash begging to be worn!

This is Essie No More Film.

2 coats + top coat

This sadly discontinued polish is described by Essie as a “seductive deep violet” & I would wager that’s a fair description of this shade. From far away, it looks almost black, but when you get up close you see that it’s actually a deep dark blurple.

If you didn’t know this abojt me — I’ve been in a serious, long term relationship with Essie’s dark blues/purples — After School Boy Blazer, Under the Twilight, Kimono Over — just to name a few. Next to red, it’s one of my favourite shades to wear.

Application was super smooth on this manicure, which is impressive because this bottle is at least 6-7 years old — maybe older I’m not 100% sure. After a good shake, it applied flawlessly, which I couldn’t be happier about as she is long discontinued.

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE OCTOBER 2025 — Jack-o-Lantern 🎃

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. After struggling through a sinus infection last week, & feeling pretty run down—I’m finally feeling more or less back to myself. & I’m so excited to share the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge October because I’m so proud of my design!

So check out my Jack-o-lantern nails, prompt #6 of Glam Nails Challenge October.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • NailStuff 4mm Micro Detail Brush
  • Pencil Eraser (to create my pumpkins)

So my original plan was to do a tiny Jack-o-lantern dotticure but I couldn’t find my largest size dotting tool, so I got crafty & used the eraser of a pencil to make the base for my pumpkins. Then I went in & made them more wide so they looked more like pumpkins using 2 orange nail polishes. I created the faces very carefully using my Micro detail brush to draw on their expressions, & they turned out so beyond perfect.

Seriously — I’m obsessed with everything about them. One of my favourite Halloween designs done so far this month! Seriously, I want to wear these forever… or atleast until it’s time for the next prompt.

GLAM NAILS CHALLENGE OCTOBER 2025 — Black Cat 🐈‍⬛ (aka My Birthday Nails 💅)

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday! I know, this post is coming to you much later in the day than usual, but that is because it’s my birthday today! & I’ve been out & about (has to get that free Starbucks birthday drink ✨!)

But I’m so excited to share the next prompt for Glam Nails Challenge October — because it’s one of my favourite things! Black Cat. 🐈‍⬛ I’ve also been holding onto some nail art stickers from Wet N Wild, which were perfect for this prompt!

Cute little black kitties, perfect for this prompt — & my birthday manicure. I went with a sponge-y pink base, compliments with Essie Birthday Girl, since it was the perfect day for it!

Maybe this is not the spookiest, scariest black cat design — but it is the perfect one for me to celebrate my October birthday with! I love the pink, I love the stickers (& the other little accent stickers I paired with them.)

Deep Wine Red with Sparkly Glitter Placement

Good morning lovelies & happy Friday! & happy The Life of a Showgirl release day to my fellow swifties! I’m going to one of the showings tonight with a friend for the album, after I get off work, & we decided to go in blind without pre-listening, so today is going to be a serious test of my willpower!

But in the meantime, how about a little sparkle. We are in full October vibes now, & while I am having so much fun doing Halloween designs for the Glam Nails Challenge, I thought I would switch it up a bit with just a little dark glitter placement.

  • Revlon Color Stay Gel Envy Heartbreaker
  • Essie Nail Art Studio Glitter Separated Starlight

Okay I don’t want to sound too conceited, but like how freaking glamorous do these nails look? I absolutely adore how they turned out. The sparkle is kind of subtle, but not subtle. It’s definitely an everyday kind of glamour, & perfect for these Autumn October days! Also, no tools required which I always love because sometimes I’m just too tired to spend an hour on something more complex (especially when I have to be up at 5:30am to get ready for work!)

So what do you think of this design? I know it’s not a groundbreaking nail art look, but I think it just looks so pretty. Definitely my go to when I want something chic, but not complex. & just a little bit subtle.
