Spring-y Ruffian

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! I’m trying to combat the grey sky lockdown blahs with some bright & colourful nails.

I was recently at Walmart, & felt like I needed a nail polish pick me up, so I grabbed a few new-to-me shades in some bright colours I wouldn’t usually go for. I thought I needed to brighten things up a bit. & when trying to figure out what would be a nice design to do, I decided a ruffian design would be perfect!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Essie Gel Couture Zip Me Up
  • Sinful Colours Track $tar

I really really like how this design turned out. I always feel like ruffian designs are hit or miss with me — either they turn out amazing & perfect, or I completely muck them up! So I was really happy that this attempt turned out so perfectly. I also got a chance to use this new-to-me Sinful Colours shade which is such a pretty colour, & very outside my comfort zone.

What do you think about this ruffian design? Are you feeling the bright colours as much as I am lately? Let me know what you think down in the comments below!

Holo Stripes

Hello lovelies & happy Wednesday.

The sun is shining, the weather is warm, & I got to wear a dress yesterday. That’s about all the good from this week, & exactly what I’m going to concentrate on. & you know what else warm sunny days mean? More holo! Because there is nothing better than sunshine & holo.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • China Glaze BFF
  • Color Club Eternal Beauty
  • China Glaze OMG
  • China Glaze IDK
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

I am absolutely smitten with how this look turned out. Yes, I’m a bit holo obsessed, but I a world full of chaos & sadness, we need a little sparkle every once in a while. This look was also super, super easy to do which I’ve been appreciating more & more lately. A few quick but steady stripes of polish & you’re in business! Looks way more complicated than it truly is.

What do you think about my holo stripes? Would you wear a look like this? What holo polishes would you combine? Let me know in the comments below!

Dainty Purple Polka Dots

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! The weekend is quickly approaching. & I don’t know where you are, but the weather here is starting to really, really feel like Spring. I might even wear a dress to work today!

But in the mean time, I’m showing off some simple & dainty polka dot design. Purple makes me happy, & I always love a dotticure whenever I need a quick, simple look.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • L’Oréal Color Riche Violet Vendome
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art Pen in Purple

Such a simple look, but a classic polka dot look just makes me happy. There is something about a simple look like this that is just so pleasing to the eye. Plus I feel like you can make it match any outfit or occasion—go wild with your colours, or keep it simple.

Also my favourite way to do simple dotticures like this is with my Sally Hansen nail art pens. I discovered these in the early days of my nail art journey, but I still own them, & still use them, especially for a look like this. Makes creating evenly placed polka dots, that are all the same size, so quick & easy. I kind of wish I had more colours, to be honest. I’m not even sure if they still exist to buy anymore!

What do you think about this dainty dotticure? Would you like to see me feature more of these easy manicures? What colour combination should I share next? Let me know in the comments below!

Negative Space Colour Blocking

Hello lovelies & happy Thursday! 💜Hope everyone is enjoying their week (& hopefully everyone is ready for the Easter bunny this weekend).

Today’s look is one I did last week on a whim, which I actually totally ended up loving. I used to do these negative space colour block designs a lot around Spring/Summer 2016, & I think it’s about time I bring them back!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Get Mod!
  • ORLY Scenic Route
  • Starrily Vantablack
  • NailStuff.ca 16mm Striper Brush

Like I had mentioned, I did this manicure on a whim. I had started another design, mucked it up, & then had needed something quick to do. & I’m so glad I decided on these! I ended up getting so, so many compliments on them while at work, which is kind of the reason I’m thinking I should start rocking them more!

I did everything freehand—mostly because I was short on time, & didn’t feel like waiting for multiple layers to dry. & I really really love the end result. Just a fun, simple look that anyone can wear, with any length nails. & I’m going to prove it because I just had a major nail catastrophe, I’m back to itty bitty short nails.

So stay tuned!

What do you think about this nail art look? Would you wear a colour block design like this? What colours would you pair together? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!

Matte Pastel Leopard Print

Hello lovelies & happy Tuesday! ☕️🌸

I hope everyone is having a lovely start to the week — especially with that Full moon that happened Sunday. I definitely felt the effects from it; things were off. But I did start off my week with some much needed Spring cleaning, which was great… & very, very overdue. My nail art area was starting to get overrun with bottles of polish, haha.

I also have some new Spring-y nails to shade. I saw this pretty pastel leopard print via Pinterest, & thought it would be absolutely perfect for a nail art look! & obviously matte top coat makes everything better!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Top Coat: Essie Good to Go
  • Matte Top Coat: Butter London Matte Top Coat
  • Essence Good to Go Indian Summer
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art Pen in Fine Black
  • NailStuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio

Love, love, love how these turned out! Dainty & Spring like. The colours just compliment each other so well! Leopard print is one of those designs I don’t do very often, so they always feel extra special when I do them. Plus, there are endless colour combinations, so you truthfully never have to do the same one twice!

What do you think about this matte pastel leopard print? Would you wear this for Spring? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below, & which colours you would pair together.
