Happy Saturday lovelies! Did everyone survive Full Moon Friday the 13th okay? Today I’m sharing a fun design that has been in planning for a while–bestie twin floral nails that I did with my girl Victoria over at @nailstuffca!
We’ve been talking about doing some twin floral nails for absolutely ages, so I was really excited that we finally managed to come together to create our matching looks! The inspiration for this floral comes from my favourite place for inspiration: Pinterest! I found this pattern while browsing for Fall floral & that was where we started for our manicures.
The polishes used for this manicure were:
- Base Coat: Gel overlay (trying to grow out some damage on my tips)
- Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
- ORLY Plum Sugar
- Essie Stop Drop & Shop
- Acrylic Paints (set purchased from Dollarama)
- Nailstuff.ca Dotting Tool Trio
- Nailstuff.ca Mermaid Tail Brush Brush Trio (I used the 11mm liner brush)
This was my first time using acrylic paints to create a look like this (floral) & I was a little nervous at first, but it was actually pretty easy to do! I still had to use polish for the pinky roses, as the set of paints I bought didn’t have any red. But other than that, I was pretty impressed that a $2 set of acrylic paint could create such beautiful art on such a teeny canvas. I don’t think I’ll use paints every time I go to do nail art, but for a design like this that is supposed to be a bit rustic, I think they worked perfectly!
Ahhhh, how pretty did these turn out? Considering I was definitely feeling rusty since I hadn’t created any floral since before our baby girl was born, I feel really good about the end result.
What do you think about these floral nails? Don’t forget to hop over to @NailStuff.ca & check out Victoria’s version of this design & give her some love!
Happy Tuesday lovelies! Today I have a very special nail collab to share with you. One of the most amazing things about the nail community is the way it brings people together. Last August I did a mani swap with Hannah from @hjs_nails & we bonded over the fact we both had baby boys in February. Since our beautiful little guys share a birthday month we decided to team up & do some Bestie Twin Baby Boy Birthday Nails in their honour.
How handsome do our little guys look hanging out beside their special birthday manicures! For our designs, Hannah & I created a fun celebratory design featuring a gradient dotticure (to represent confetti), some balloons & the number one. Hannah had painted her nail design first, so I followed her polish picks to match the best I could.
For this manicure, the polishes I used were:
- Base Coat: Quo by ORLY Breathable Kiss Me, I’m Kind
- Top Coat: Seche Vive
- ORLY Decades of Dysfunction
- Essie Strut Your Stuff
- Essie Too Too Hot
- L’Oreal Feeling Kilty
- Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Black Heart
- Small detail brush from Bundle Monster
- Small dotting tool from Bundle Monster
How cute did this design turn out?! The colour combination reminds me of a race car, which is perfection when celebrating baby boys. My little guys birthday isn’t until Thursday, but it still works because on this day last year I was on day 2 of my 54 hour labour! It’s kind of crazy to believe that I am almost the Mom of a one year old. This year has certainly been a whirl wind, & it definitely hasn’t been easy to balance Mom-life with non-Mom life (like blogging & doing my nails) but I wouldn’t trade it. It’s been a very interesting adventure.
My nails & my 9 pound baby boy.
Hope you liked this design! & don’t forget to pop over to Hannah’s instagram (@hjs_nails) & give her mani some love too!
Have a happy Tuesday! 🎈🎉🎁
I always get really, really excited when I can team up with fellow nail polish addicts I love, admire & am inspired by. So I was really excited when I had the opportunity to team up with Tori of @torisprettythings!
I’ve been friends with Tori on Instagram for a long time, but somehow we’ve never come together for a collaboration. 😳 Thankfully we’ve finally amended that with these fun Fall polka dot nails inspired by a mani she found on Pinterest originally by Oooh Shinies.
For this manicure, the polishes I used were:
- Base Coat: OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
- Top Coat: Sally Hansen Diamond Flash
- Essie Wrap Me Up
- China Glaze Champagne Bubbles
- Essie Leggy Legend
- OPI My Private Jet
- Small & tiny dotting tool.
How perfectly Fall is this manicure? Both Tori & I are all about that Fall weather so we were pumped to team up on some Autumn inspired nails. I haven’t done a dotticure this fun in a while so it was really fun to sit down & play around.
Sometimes the simpler designs actually bring out your most creativity. This isn’t a super hard design & would be great for a nail art beginner! All you need is a dotting tool & some complimentary shades & people will be in awe of your nails. I am going to be doing a whole week of beginner nail art designs coming up (I’ve already been collecting & playing with manicure ideas) but this would definitely be on the list of great beginner designs.
What do you think of this bestie twin nail collaboration? Don’t forget to check out Tori’s Instagram…. not just for all the beautiful nail art inspo she posts, but also her awesome OOTD & make up looks.
Happy Monday…and February 1st! You know what that means…. Time to start the Valentines Day manicures! Starting off with some bestie twin nails I did with my my girlie @mynailpolish_addiction. It’s become our tradition to do bestie twin nails every holiday, and so I was super excited for us to come together for Valentines Day Nails.
This time, we created manicures based on this napkin I saw last year and really wanted to recreate! When I showed Jessica she was totally up for the challenge and both manis turned out so awesome!
The polishes I used for this manicure were:
- OPI My Chiuhuha Bites
- OPI I Canolli Wear OPI
- Deborah Lippmann Between the Sheets.
- Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art pens in white, red & pink.
- Essie Good to Go
- Born Pretty small nail art brush.
So what do you think of this manicure? Are you a fan of Valentines Day? Personally, I’m strictly in it for the nail art possibilities. Plus any chance to wear red or pink on my nails is a good thing in my books!
Have a great Monday! 💗
It’s all about Christmas on my nails lately, and I was lucky enough to get to team up with Jessica from @mynailpolish_addiction! We went with a mani originally by @cocoasnailss.
The Polishes used for my mani were:
- China Glaze For Audrey
- OPI Pink-ing Of You
- Essie Tuck It In My Tux
- Sally Hansen I Love Nail Art Pen in White
- QUO by ORLY Nail Art Striper in Red.
- Essie Good to Go
You can check out Jessica’s page for a tutorial on how she created her version of this mani!
I just love the combo of the blue with the polka dots then the Candy Canes. I’m having fun coming up with new Christmas designs this year!
