SWATCH SUNDAY — OPI I Sing In Color

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! Officially celebrating the first Sunday of October — & spooky season! I love spooky season.

I was perusing my nail polish stash, trying to find a shade I haven’t yet shared for Swatch Sunday. I have a lot of shades from the beginning of my nail polish obsession I never shared swatches of, so I enjoy going back & pulling them out.

Take today’s pick: originally released as part of the Holiday 2014 collection, I feel like it’s the perfect dark burgundy for October. This is OPI I Sing In Color.

2 coats + top coat

One word: obsessed.

This dark burgundy, so dark it could look black from far away, has a beautiful cream formula that builds effortlessly. To me, this is the definition of an Autumn manicure — dark, cosy & a little bit moody.

Look at that beautiful smooth formula! For a shade that is almost in its teenage years, she’s holding up stunningly.

Actually, I’m surprised that I don’t pull this out more! I think it’s just been hiding in my OPI stash, so I kept missing it — but I rearranged all my polishes after we moved, so she was more front & centre. & thank goodness for that because I’m so excited to share how beautiful it is!

Do you remember OPI I Sing In Color? Sadly, we’re another discontinued shade so finding her for purchase might prove difficult. But OPI just released a collection for Fall 2026 featuring some highly requested shades, so maybe we’ll get a re-release in the not too distant future!

A girl can dream.

Happy Sunday loves.

Autumn Gloom Floral

Hello lovelies & happy Monday.

Autumn is in full swing, & I’m loving every moment. There is nothing better than the ‘Ber months. Flannel days, hot cider, all things pumpkin spice — I couldn’t ask for more.

Naturally I’ve been drawn towards darker colour on my nails, as you’ve probably all noticed. I decided, though, there wasn’t enough floral happening so I decided to hand paint some pretty floral on my nails, but still keep with the deep dark jewel tones which have been calling to me.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Sinful Colors Power Paint Top Coat + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat
  • Color Club Jewel of A Girl
  • & then a whole bunch of Color Club shades that don’t have names listed (purchased in multipacks at Winners/Marshalls)
  • NailStuff 7mm Mermaid Tail Liner Brush

I’m pretty proud of how these turned out. The colours really compliment the shimmery jewel tone of Jewel of A Girl, & pop very nicely. I did use a ton of shades for this look, but literally none (except my base) had a name on it. I actually have a lot of Color Club shades I don’t use very often because they’re nameless.

Maybe someday I’ll do some investigation to figure out what they’re names are, but today is not that day.

What do you think of this gloomy Autumn floral? Do you like this vibe?

We’re only a couple days away from October, so I’m already starting to plan what I’m going to do for the month — pumpkins, & ghosts & spooky vibes are definitely on the list!

Happy Monday loves. Enjoy it.

Magnetic Autumn Leaves 🍂

Hello loves & happy Friday! The weekend is (almost) upon us.

Today I’m sharing a fun, & easy, Autumn look using magnetic nail polish & nail vinyls. Sometimes, I don’t want a crazy nail art look, but I still want something eye catching. This look was exactly what I was looking for.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Base Coat
  • Top Coat: Sinful Colors Power Paint Top Coat + Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat
  • China Glaze Private Side Eyes *PR
  • Starrily Magma *PR
  • NailStuff Essentials Raven *PR
  • Starrily Magnet
  • What’s Up Beauty Canada Flag Vinyls

I liked adding Magma over Private Side Eyes because the scattered holo show through in some light which is fun. It’s subtle, but it’s definitely there. The leaves are also definitely a subtle addition, but that was what I was going for — I wanted them to be a surprise you notice depending on how you move your nail.

It also inspired me to try the opposite way — using a black base colour, & then using the magnetic for the leaves. I’ll definitely be trying that one next.

What do you think of my magnetic maple leaf nails? Do you like the subtle effect this design has?

It’s been too long since I pulled out nail vinyls, so I think I need to do it more often — & maybe even buy myself some new ones for Halloween/Christmas! I don’t think I’ve purchased any in at least 5 years which is kind of crazy. So obviously I need to go shopping!

Happy Friday!

Hand painted Autumn Floral 🌻

Hello lovelies & happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

It was chilly, & seasonal, & I definitely was adding some pumpkin spice to my coffee. I’m just loving this weather so much. It makes me the happiest! You know what else makes me happy? Floral on my nails. Especially when it’s a floral to match the Autumn vibes. So I’m excited to share this look I hand painted.

Originally I was going for sunflowers, but they kind of transformed into marigolds (maybe?). Some kind of Fall flower for sure.

The polishes I used for this manicure are:

  • Base Coat: Essie Hard To Resist Strengthner
  • Top Coat: Sinful Colors Power Paint Top Coat + Essie Speed Setter
  • Essie Bordeaux
  • Essie Fall for NYC
  • Essie Set in Sandstone
  • Essie Willow in the Wind
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Essie Expressie Take the Espresso
  • NailStuff 7mm Liner Brush

How pretty did these turn out? Do I know what flower they actually are? no idea! But do I love them regardless? Absolutely!

What do you think of my Autumn floral? Have you missed my flower designs? I haven’t done very many in the last little while, so it was fun to stretch my nail art skills with these.

Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below, & for fun share what your favourite part of Fall is (since it is officially Autumn on the calendar as of tomorrow). Now that our days are getting more crisp, & cool, & I am loving every moment but especially the Fall themed drinks!

SWATCH SUNDAY — China Glaze First Class Ticket (Fall 2010 Vintage Vixen Collection)

Hello lovelies & happy Sunday! The weather is absolutely perfect Autumn vibes right now — I wore tights yesterday with my favourite denim skirt. I felt so Fall.

Obviously, I’ve been perusing my stash for past Fall shades I haven’t shared yet with everyone, & stumbled across this beauty in my China Glaze drawer. Yes, I have a whole drawer full of China Glaze nail polishes… a drawer & a half if we’re being technical. But I was excited to stumble across this beauty, & I realized that I haven’t shared it yet!

This is China Glaze First Class Ticket.

2 coats + top coat

This beautiful deep metallic purple is filled with a stunning blue micro glitter which gives it the most stunning blurple effect. We all know I love a deep purple, & a jewel tone, & these are so perfect for this time of year. Formula was smooth & easy to apply — Obviously I still needed two coats for full opacity, but I had no problem with streakiness, or brushstrokes.

Close up really shows how that blue micro glitter gives a glow to the polish. I used flash for my photographs, but even without you can see that blurple effect.

I feel like this shade is very 2010s China Glaze — when to me, their polishes were at the peak. Obviously I still love the brand, but nothing compares to my shades from the early to mid 2010s. That was when China Glaze was the IT GIRL nail polish brand, & I truly adore all of my shades that I collected during those years. It was a beautiful time.

What do you think about China Glaze First Class Ticket? Do you love this shade as much as I do?

Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below! & have the best Sunday lovelies.
