Valentine’s Day Polish picks.

Just in case you weren’t already aware, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. My Instagram feed has been just full of so many pretty love themed designs, and I’ve come up with a few myself. But I thought I would share a few of my favourite Valentine’s Day appropriate polishes.

 OPI Designer Series Bold
Pretty pink glitter. You can never go wrong with any of those things, and I love Bold because it feels super girlie to me. This is 3 glitter packed coats, which made me glad I used peel off base coat because I would not have wanted to try and remove it the old fashioned way.

Garage Noname Neon Pink with holo micro glitters.

First off, everyone say howdy to Cindy! Was trying to save of time by bringing her into the mix.  Way more awkward to pose though, hence the bottle shot.

 Essie Toggle to the Top

I adore this beautiful Wine coloured glitter–it’s just such a sexy polish (can nail polish be sexy? Why not!) I layered my swatch over China Glaze Seduce Me (another perfect colour for Valentine’s Day!) which cut down on how many coats I needed to do.

 ACO by Ardene Sprinkles

I like glitter for Valentine’s Day, have you noticed? I picked this polish because I thought it would be fun to wear, plus the name makes me think of cupcakes, and who doesn’t like cupcakes for Valentine’s Day?

Essie A-List

My fifth and final polish is your classic red. Gosh I love red polish have, and Essie never goes wrong with a good red. I picked this up at Marshalls in a duo pack with Sparkle on Top for $5.
So what’s your favourite Valentine’s Day appropriate polish? Let me know in the comments below. 💗

Moroccan Tile Accent nails inspired by @PolishPeach

Today I have another manicure inspired by one of the amazing nail artists on Instagram! This time, I took inspiration from @polishpeach and the stunning Moroccan Tile manicure she did a couple weeks ago (she also has a tutorial on her page for anyone who also wants to recreate it!)

First off, how cute is my new reusable Valentine’s Day cup from Starbucks! The hubby bought it for me the other day. I just love it! Also look how well it goes with my manicure!

The polishes I used for this manicure were:

  • Essie Big Spender
  • OPI I Canolli Wear OPI
  • OPI Miss You-nerverse
  • Large and tiny dotting tools (I purchased mine from Amazon)
  • Smallest size nail art brush (purchased from Born Pretty)
  • Essie Good to Go top coat.

I didn’t have any Moroccan tile nail vinyls left to use, so I dotted the pattern myself. When I was first dotting my pattern, I was scared it wasn’t going to come together, but once the white lines and blue dots went down it looked perfect! And I really love how it turned out, and I’m going to have to try it out again in different colour combo!

Have a great day lovely! I have the day off today to do some nail stuff (like a blog post showing off my favourite polishes for Valentines Day!) and prepare for the impending blizzard heading out way. Is it Spring yet?

Mani swap with @dsetterfield74!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday night! I’m once again delayed on posting, but here is the mani swap I did with the ever so talented  Dianna (@dsetterfield74) on Instagram!

For this swap, Dianna recreated my matte chevron moons I did back in the Fall, and I recreated her red and gold swirl nails. I had a hard time picking from her assortment of beautiful manicures, but I just loved the gold and red too much not to choose it!

I didn’t have the stamping plate that Dianna used, so I decided to recreate the swirls freehand. It could have ended as an epic nail polish fail, but thankfully it turned out super close to its inspiration! (Thank goodness! No one likes a nail fail.)

For this mani, the polishes I used were:

  • Essie A-List
  • Icing NYE
  • Essie Shine of the Times
  • Essence Black Is Back
  • gold studs (from Born Pretty Store)
  • Small nail art brush (also from Born Pretty)
  • Essie Good to Go

So what do you think of this mani swap? I’m having a lot of fun swapping with all these amazing nail artists!

Mani Swap with @polished_yogi

Hello Lovelies! I meant to share a couple of mani swaps I did earlier in the week, but work and life (and now sickness) got in the way. Better late than never though, right?

First up is the mani swap I had the pleasure of doing with @polished_yogi! Stefanie is one of the super talented ladies I’ve made friends with on Instagram, so I was super excited to get to swap with her.

For this mani swap, I recreated Stefanie’s adorable little hedgehogs and she recreated my recent pink and chevron mani.

The polishes I used for this manicure were:

  • Revlon Minted
  • OPI How Great is you Dane
  • Essie Moccachino
  • Essie Caoco Karma
  • Essie Take it Outside
  • Sally Hansen I 💗 Nail Art pen in Pink
  • Sally Hansen I 💗 Nail Att pen in Red
  • Essie Good to Go
  • Butter London Matte top coat.
  • Small nail art brush from Born Pretty.

Words cannot begin to describe how much I love this mani. Those cute little hedgehogs…. Oh how I love them! I didn’t want to take this mani off at all. I also think it’s a perfect start to my Valentines Day Nails.

Stay tuned because I have another mani swap to share with you!

Pink and Purple Drag Marble

More purple and pink?! I know, I know… I just can’t be stopped. But it is pretty much my favourite colour combination of all time.

For the mani, the polishes I used were:

  • Quo by Orly Purple Passion
  • Essie The Girls Are Out
  • Essie Good to Go
  • Smallest size dotting tool.

I’m loving the combo. Both Purple Passion and The Girls  Are Out have such a pretty glitter that compliments the other so well… Like they’re just meant to be paired together in a 1000 manis!
What’s your favourite colour combinations? Pink and purple are pretty much #1 for me, and pink and blue is pretty high up there too. Think I might need to start playing around with some new ones… Any suggestions for me?
