Blurple & Pink Pastel Half Moons 🌙

Good Morning lovelies! Hope you’re having a fantastic Thursday. I seriously can’t believe that it is almost the weekend already! & the May long weekend at that. Well, unless you work in retail of course… & then it is just another weekend with a slightly busier Monday.

Today I’m showing off some pretty half moons featuring a few shades from the Sally Hansen Canada Miracle Gel Pastel Punk collection. & as you can see, I’ve made a return to rounded nails. My nails in general have been feeling pretty weak ever since my return to work (a combination of not oiling & moisturizing them every hour, dealing with lots of stock & having to use a liberal amount of hand sanitizer) so after another break I decided a return to rounded was in order.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel I Lava You
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Just Maui’d
  • Paper Hole reinforcements

I’ve raved again & again just how much I adore the look of half moon designs, especially how EASY they are! Because this kind of design was my first ever real “nail art” I did, aside from maybe poorly door polka dots, this is one of my top nail art design suggestions for those just getting into nail art. Especially because the only “tools” it requires can be bought at Walmart or Dollarama (or any dollar store) for less than $2.

Also check out how much more purple Just Maui’d looks paired with I Lava You versus on its own when I swatched it. It pairs so well with the pinks, I can’t get over it. Definitely in love.

Also I’m on the hunt for any suggestions on how to help my nails feel less frail. Going to be switching up my base coat–thinking about trying out Nail Envy again. If you have any suggestions let me know! 💜

Floral Flash Nails

Happy Tuesday lovelies! I hope you’re enjoying the beginning of your week. Today I’m sharing some brand new nails with you–& yep, more floral! I truly believe you can never wear too much floral. Now if only I had taken more pictures of this design…. sadly I only snapped a few to share with you!

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel In the Sheer
  • Essie Play Date
  • Essie Go Ginza
  • Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Trouble Maker
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Super Charge
  • Essence The Green & The Grunge
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Pink
  • China Glaze Metro Pollen-tin
  • Sally Hansen I ♥️ Nail Art pen in Black
  • Sally Hansen Royal Hue
  • China Glaze I Sea the Point
  • Bundle Monster detail brush
  • Bundle Monster dotting tool

It always takes so many polishes to create my favourite florals, but when you see it all put together it’s so worth it. Gosh I love floral designs over almost bare or really sheer polishes. They’re is just something romantic about how they come together. Love love love. Also I felt like I needed some untraditional floral colours–like purple roses. Something just a little bit different from my more recent floral & rose designs. I’m a little bit floral obsessed right now–I just picked up a new floral phone case, & I keep buying floral shirts & dresses. There is just no such thing as too much floral! 🌸

SWATCH SUNDAY — Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Pastel Punk Collection! 💀💅🏻

Good morning lovelies! & happy Mother’s Day to all my fellow Moms out there. I hope everyone is having a fantastic start to their Sunday! I was up early enjoying so cold brew & finishing up today’s very special blog post featuring swatches of the brand new Sally Hansen Canada Pastel Punk Collection! This is a Canada Exclusive collection so apologies in advance to my international & American friends.

I received this 6 polishes collection from Sally Hansen themselves & the packaging was awesome. Not only were my polishes & Miracle Gel Top Coat wrapped up in the funky fanny pack you see above, but they included the cassette tape you see above… which is actually a USB! One of the cutest PR packages I’ve ever gotten in the mail!

Also that fanny pack is all kinds of nail art inspo!

Vibrant Colour Blocking

Good Morning lovelies & Happy Saturday!

I don’t know how the weather is where you are, but here in Halifax they’re calling for lots of sunshine over the next little while & I couldn’t be more exciting. I’ve worn dresses for the last few days, & I’m pretty dedicated to keeping my no pants streak going. Obviously, my cheery mood is translating to my nails because I’m all about bright & colourful nails! Today I’m showing off a colour block design done using a few vibrant polishes & nail vinyls.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Seche Vive
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel In The Sheer
  • Essie Splash if Grenadine
  • Essie All the Wave
  • OPI I Eat Maine-ly Lobster
  • China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin
  • Xroma Polish & Vinyls Mosaic Stencils
  • Dotting Tool

Oooooh I love so much how these colours go together. This combo is feeling very 90s to me for some reason, & I love it! So blinding, which is perfect because I just bought brand new (giant) sunglasses. 🕶 To me, this is just the perfect bright design… the colours, the pattern. I’m seriously in love with everything about it! Plus I feel like these colours are perfect for making me look way more tanned than I actually am. & when you spend 10+ hours inside, you’ll take any hint of a tan you can get!

What do you think of this colour block design? Would you rock this pattern on your nails? What is your favourite nail polish shade combination? Share all your thoughts down in the comments below & let me know what you’re wearing on your nails for the weekend! 💅🏻☀️🌵

Beachy Gradient Nails

Happy Thursday lovelies! Who else can’t believe this week (month… year…) is speeding by as quickly as it is? Seriously, wasn’t it just Easter?

Today I’m sharing a recent gradient that is giving me beachy vibes! 🏝 The colours for this design was inspired by a recent trip to David’s Tea (for my mid-afternoon matcha fix) & their Spring colour scheme. I was loving all the gradients & the beautiful shades that I knew I had to create a gradient on my nails ASAP.

For this manicure, the polishes I used were:

  • Base Coat: Nailtek 2
  • Top Coat: Essie Gel Setter
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Bourbon Babe
  • Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Sweet Tea
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Babe Blue
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Royal Hue
  • Icing Stores Mermaid Mint Shimmer
  • Latex Free Make Up Sponge
  • Edge Perfection Cuticle Barrier

Seriously, how fun are these? I loved the gradient just on its own, but adding the shimmer from Icing Mint Mermaid Shimmer really brought it over the top. Also I’m so happy with how the blend turned out in this design. Considering how awful my beginner gradients just to look (mostly because I was terrified of having to clean polish off my hands!) I’m really, really happy with them now.

Also these totally make me want to go to the beach. Hopefully it will be warm enough for those days soon enough!
